little joys of summer - part 2

a few months ago, we traded downtown for a quieter town further east. i used to say i’d never leave. turns out, no regrets. fresh air, slow mornings, lakes, beaches, farm stands … and with the city still close, it feels like the best of both.

the smell of sourdough hitting the cool morning air before the city fully wakes.

spring days in paris feel
like a conversation you don’t want to end.

beautiful skies,
slow wandering,
and church bells somewhere along the way.

a place i’m glad to call home 🤍 taken in Paris, France by @the.roadsbetween

Orono, you cute little thing.

antique market finds, quiet creek walks, pumpkin chessboards on a calm afternoon. then the september fair weekend hits and it’s farm animals, sweet treats, live music, and the roar of the demolition derby.

one little village, two very different speeds, a hundred reasons to fall in love 🤍

now you know! Orono is full of surprises. save the fair for next september.

ask me my favorite place, i’ll give you a person, not a city. this is your sign to text them before summer forgets you did this together. 🌼

we booked the same destination

shared the same sunsets
walked the same beach

but somewhere along the way,
each of us began a different journey

some trips help us reconnect
some help us slow down
some remind us we don’t have to carry it alone

Little joys of summer — part 1: city edition 🏙️

A few fragments of summer in the city! I love Toronto in the warmer months. Rooftop afternoons, endless wandering, lingering lunches, and dinners with a little magic! These are the city moments i’m taking with me.

Until next summer ✌🏾

an afternoon spent slow

aruba, one afternoon in august

dust on the tires, cactus taller than the jeep

dirt road, salt in the air before you see the water

cliffs on both sides, water almost glass-clear

stayed there longer than i meant to

cactus spines, then sea foam, ten steps apart

went in with the dress on

sand still on my feet hours later taken in Aruba by @the.roadsbetween
