We are so excited to be running it back for @downtownjctn Main Street Days Festival and DANCING IN THE STREETS! Join us this Saturday October 17th from 4-7pm in front of @caponesjc where we will be line dancing and swing dancing in the streets! Whether you come just to dance or you’re at the festival and stop in for one dance with us, we can’t wait to see you all and fill the streets with dancing!

Sometimes you find yourself at a dance house party 4 hours away doing a spotlighted j&j and I think that’s the beauty of this community we’ve fallen in love with so much! We dance in the bars because sometimes it’s our only dance venue choice, but when we’re able to go beyond the bars and competitions and come together to create art and memories together, those are the memories we will never forget! Hey y’all, I’m Nikki 🤍 Country swing instructor, co-founder of The LineUp, and the girl behind our social media, marketing, and event planning.

I was born and raised right here in the Tri-Cities, and dance has been part of my life for over 30 years. It’s always been where I can quiet my mind, feel everything, and find a little piece of myself again.

Building The LineUp with Derrick has given that lifelong love a whole new purpose. Now I get to watch other people find their confidence, make friendships, and discover how good it feels to let go on a dance floor. 🥹

This community means so much to me. Every time you walk through our doors, try something new, or come back for another Wednesday, you’re helping us build something I once only wished existed here.

Same ballroom. Same two people. A year and a half of growing together. 🥹🤍

Putting these videos side by side makes me wish I could tell those beginner versions of us just how much this dance journey would mean to us.

Between these two clips are countless hours of practice, moments of frustration, little breakthroughs, and so many nights of “can we try something one more time.” Learning to trust ourselves, trust each other, and find our own rhythm together.

When you’re always thinking about what you want to improve next, it’s easy to forget how far you’ve already come. Watching this reminded me to pause and be proud of us.

We still have so much to learn, but getting to do this with you, Derrick, is my favorite part. A year ago, we were hoping people would show up to a local dance night each week. Last night, we got to dance surrounded by people who have become such a beautiful part of our lives and this growing community. 🥹🤍

This spotlight with Derrick meant so much to me. Every Wednesday, every lesson, every doubt, every little moment of “we’re really doing this” led us here—to celebrating one year of Cowboy Capone’s with The Line Up and a community we love so deeply.
