Seems like Mumbai is safe but not for auto rickshaw drivers at night 🙄

Generations ago, woodcarvers like @asifsayyed303 came from Saharanpur to Mumbai’s Jogeshwari West.

I’ve always been curious about the story behind them.

Most are Muslim, and nearly all their work is carving beautiful wooden mandirs for Hindu homes. They brought their craft, not prejudice. ❤️

The relation of a murtikar and Bappa ❤️

I’ve always wondered what it feels to work for months sculpting Ganesh idols and building a certain bond with them only to watch them leave and never come back again.

On the day of Visarjan, devotees are sad and full of emotions because they have to let go of Bappa after a few day of having him over. It’s hard to imagine the kind of emotions murtikars like @traveler_boy_akshay go through after building a bond for 6 months.

The purest for of love, emotions and a whole lot of devotion❤️

The story of a Murtikar ❤️

This Ganesh Chaturthi, I was curious to hear the stories of one of the Murtikars (Idol sculptors) of Mumbai who tirelessly work for months before Ganesh Chaturthi.

@traveler_boy_akshay ‘s story as a Murtikar gives us an insight into the emotions they feel from the time they start sculpting to handing over these Ganesh Idols to the devotees ❤️

What I personally experienced was the purest form of love during my interaction with him. taken in Mumbai - मुंबई by @the.staleon

Zindagi ek Khwab hai!

Was unsure of posting this but I am doing so because I just wanted to show what reality looks like.
Grandad at 81, suffering from dementia (Alzheimer’s).
He can’t remember much of the current world around him. He wakes up everyday confused looking at his children and grand children thinking “who are these random people in my house?”

The man loves his chai though. Always up at 10am and 5pm for his daily 2 cups of chai! ❤️ by @the.staleon
