Fresh Finds Presnts a night at @roughtradelpl ! Written by paddy Harvey Edited by @jodie3848 Featuring photography from - mays.snapshot @shermanlovesthecure & @honeyrobertsphotography . From the other side of the holy Gatekeeping Gate, this is my review of the Fresh Finds event at Rough Trade Liverpool on April 24th, 2026… I like to think of the Gate moving from venue to venue across the world, summoned by the aura of unsuspecting talent about to make it big. It materialises behind the venue’s bouncers like the TARDIS, and is drawn gracefully open by the souls of pre-Stranger Things Kate Bush fans. The gate was opened to me and my cousin, Roisin (@roisinmccauleymusic), and we were welcomed into a night of high-energy, sincere fun as we witnessed camaraderie across four bands—Supermarket, Wholegrain, The Tusks, and XL Poncho. The Tusks Set to Play Rough Trade 24.04.26 Written by Jodie Edwards @jodie3848 Photography from @honeyrobertsphotography The Tusks are a Liverpool-based four-piece indie rock band formed by members who studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA). Since forming, the band has continued to grow their sound and strengthen their connection with audiences! Their music is often described as a rather energetic blend of both modern indie and British rock, packing a punch with raw, powerful songwriting. This creates a sound that is uniquely theirs, helping them stand out as they continue to build their presence within the Liverpool music scene. Fresh Finds is a new and exciting showcase of some of the freshest new acts around, with The Tusks set to be part of the lineup. With a strong reputation for highlighting emerging talent, the event promises to bring fantastic music and give a spotlight to some of the most exciting new artists.
