Book club took a field trip and I am still not over it 📚✨

The Saint Crispian’s Tea Society hosted an immersive evening inspired by The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion in Mapleton, Utah and it was genuinely one of the most magical evenings I have ever had.

Every single inch of the space was done with so much intention. Every detail was a nod to the book and the whole experience was so beautifully immersive. This is the kind of event that reminds you why you love books in the first place.

I am already so excited to go back next year.

And if you have not read The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lyon yet please stop what you are doing and go find them. All eight books. They are some of the most whimsical and wholesome books I have ever read and I cannot recommend them enough.

Utah book girlies this one is for you.

Table X in Millcreek, Utah is hands down my favorite restaurant in the entire state and it is not even close 🍷

This is my birthday dinner request every single year without fail and it has never once let me down.

Table X does prix fixe menus of either five or seven courses with locally sourced ingredients that change with the seasons. You can do wine, cocktail, or mocktail pairings and every single one is thoughtfully matched to each course. Before each course your server walks you through the dish, the ingredients, and where everything came from. Knowing the garnish on your plate was pulled from the garden that day somehow makes it taste even better.

I am genuinely in love with their sourdough and butter situation and I have never had a single bad bite here. Not once.

The service is truly on point and this is one of the rare spots in Utah that delivers a real fine dining experience from start to finish. Everything is intentional and thought through and you feel that from the second you walk in.

Get a reservation, go hungry, and clear your evening. Plan for two to two and a half hours and every minute of it is worth it.

Hands down the best Philly and quite possibly the best sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life.

Beast from the East in Salt Lake City, Utah and I need every single person to go immediately.

We started with the traditional Philly and were absolutely blown away. They use a cheese called Cooper Sharp which is the most melty, most delicious, most incredible cheese situation I have ever experienced. The flavor is just on another level entirely.

The crab fries are seasoned with an amazing bay seasoning blend and come with a Cooper Sharp cheddar dipping sauce. Obviously incredible.

We also tried the buffalo chicken sandwich which uses their house buffalo sauce and was so so good, and the Backyard Brawler which has local roast beef and turkey sourced from Logan, Utah. Every single ingredient here is so intentional and you can taste that in every single bite.

But what made this visit truly special was getting to know Megan and Kris who own the spot. They walked us through the stories behind every picture on their wall including their engagement photo taken in front of the Rocky steps. They are big time Rocky fans and this place has such an incredible nostalgic energy that matches perfectly with just how good the food is.

We are officially their number one fans. Kolby even bought the shirt and has been wearing it around. That says everything.

Get there. Now.

Daybreak’s best kept secret.

Lakebreak has been one of our most visited spots this year and there’s a reason we keep coming back. We love the outdoor patio in the warmer months but as it gets colder I genuinely love being inside just as much.

Tuesdays are our go-to. Live jazz and blues music, Taco Tuesday with 6 tacos for $20, and a vibe that’s just hard to beat on a weeknight. Weekends get really busy so Tuesday is the move.

Our must orders every single time: the pretzel bites (if there’s a pretzel on the menu I’m ordering it), and the wings. I’m genuinely struggling to find wings I love more than theirs. So crispy with a parmesan garlic sauce that is so freaking good. The chicken milanese is another regular for us.

This visit we tried the lobster roll for the first time. So delicious. And then the butter cake. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it rivals Sol Agave’s butter cake. That is not something I say lightly.

Oh, and I checked off a 2026 foodie bucket list item here. Caviar bumps. Worth it.

My one wish: a skinny stemmed wine glass for my white wine every time (it’s 50/50 right now and I need it to be 100).

$$-$$$, reservations recommended on weekends. Walk around the lake after dinner and thank me later.

$26.99 all you can eat teppanyaki, sushi, and apps. Utah’s best kept secret.

Welcome to part 5 of Every Restaurant in Utah’s Chinatown. This is Sakura, and it’s been one of our number one repeat spots for years.

First hack: ask for the all you can eat menu when you arrive. They’ll almost always try to hand you the traditional menu so just ask.

For appetizers you can order one of everything and I basically do. My must haves are the spring rolls, the gyoza, the mushroom soup, and the green salad with a dressing I think about more than I should. For rice and noodles, ask for half and half and they’ll give you a full serving of both. Double yum yum sauce on the rice. Non negotiable.

For proteins there are so many options. I always do the $5 upgrade for the filet and it’s worth every penny. Pro tip: if you want it medium, order medium rare and it’ll come out perfect. I get the chicken every time, Kolby always does the shrimp.

For sushi, the deep fried Philly is a must.

They also do hibachi at home where they come and cook at your house, which I am already planning my next party around.

My one wish: a better white wine selection (a girl can dream).

$26.99 per person for all you can eat. One of our all time favorites. Definitely give this a whirl.

I think I just found your new favorite ramen spot.

Welcome to part 4 of Every Restaurant in Utah’s Chinatown. This is Heya Ramen, and it might be my new favorite ramen in Utah.

The pork katsu ramen had this thick, creamy broth with caramelized crispy onions that gave it the most incredible depth of flavor. I usually struggle with the meat in ramen but the crispy pork completely changed that for me. Kolby got the Monster Ramen Bowl, a limited run, loaded with protein, very much his dream bowl. And the kids meal came fully loaded with ramen and gyoza which is honestly such a win.

We also tried two appetizers. The enoki mushrooms are tempura fried and if you love mushrooms you need these. The skewers had pork belly, chicken, and chicken skins, things I normally wouldn’t go for, and I really enjoyed every single one.

The lemonades were a standout. Mango and mint, all the drinks and syrups made in house. You can taste the difference.

My one wish: that I was better at chopsticks (the embarrassment is real and ongoing).

$$, incredible service, really cool vibe. Located in the Chinatown area of South Salt Lake City. Definitely give this spot a whirl.

Throwback video from my tik tok channel, because we just had this great spot again this morning!! Wombat Bagels - West Jordan, UT

Bagels have been all over my for you page lately and with a new spot opening up in Lehi I figured it was time to try one that was a little closer to home.

These are fresh, high quality bagels and you can tell the difference immediately. The ingredients are not an afterthought here.

The breakfast bacon bagel was really good and the bacon was actually good bacon, which sounds like a low bar but you would be surprised. They let you pick your cheese which I always appreciate. We also got the lox bagel which was so fresh and so well done. They do the rip and dip style which is very much having a moment right now, but I am a toasted bagel person through and through so I got mine toasted and zero regrets. The maple pecan schmear is a must.

The iced latte was solid too which matters because a bagel spot that cannot pass the latte test is a problem. This one passes.

Posting this video from a little while back on my TikTok because we got their takeout this morning and I had to come back and report. Got the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and added scallion cream cheese and avocado. Silly good. Also got the brown sugar latte iced with brown sugar cold foam and honestly enjoyed it even more than my first visit.

A few things to know going in - seating is pretty limited and this is not a remote work spot. No wifi, not really that kind of vibe. But if you want a really great quick breakfast and coffee and then get on with your day, this is exactly the spot for that.

Worth the stop. by @the.utah.edit

Reformed anti-salad girly reporting for duty.

I used to think salads were a punishment. TOSSD changed that. Completely.

I always get mine tossed, and my go-tos are the Cobb and the Caesar. But lately I’ve been all about their protein bowls. Got the Mediterranean this time and it came with two dressings. The ingredients are so fresh you can actually tell, and that’s not something I say about a lot of places.

The focaccia is a good add-on, and the blondie is worth getting too. They also just added a tomato basil soup to the menu and I will be sprinting back for that.

My one wish: I’d love if they warmed and toasted the focaccia (honestly that soup is about to solve that problem for me).

Around $15 per person, they DoorDash well, and there’s a drive-thru in Pleasant Grove. Honestly no excuse not to try it.

I love when a restaurant changes your whole opinion on something. The Block did it three times in one dinner.

Changed my mind on mocktails. Changed my mind on tres leches. And somehow convinced me that beets are actually incredible (the roasted beet carpaccio with a lemony citrusy vinaigrette... I was not prepared).

We started with the grazing board, baked ricotta, crispy cauliflower, and that beet carpaccio cause we don’t do things halfway. Then for entrees, the braised short rib gnocchi with roasted mushrooms, creme fraiche, and pickled shallots. It’s giving stroganoff and I mean that as the highest compliment. And the seasonal block rib, 24-hour sous vide short rib with potato puree and mushrooms. The sauce alone.

Finished with the s’more pie and tres leches. Former tres leches skeptic. Fully converted.

My one wish: more crackers and bread on the grazing board (you know me, I love a carb).

Dark, cozy vibe, some of the best service I’ve had in a really long time. Plan for around $30-50 per person. Reservations recommended.

Tuesday nights at Lakebreak just became a non-negotiable.

Live music, six tacos for $20, and the best vibe in Daybreak. The servers here are genuinely some of the nicest I’ve encountered anywhere and that alone will keep me coming back.

We got the parm garlic wings and pretzel bites cause those are family favorites at this point, we’re not even pretending to look at other options anymore. The lobster roll was incredible. And the butter cake... I need to talk about the butter cake. New all-time fave.

But the thing that really got me this visit: caviar bumps. Finally ticked that one off the foodie bucket list and oh my gosh, yes.

Lakebreak, you’re a 10/10. Go on a Tuesday. You won’t regret it.
