The Z3+! It was a blast welcoming Robbie Seahag to the bandstand for an Outside Now > King Kong > Pygmy Twylyte 🥪 at The Bitter End this week. Seahag is a longtime Project Object bandmate of Ike Willis’, and a Banned From Utopia alum as well—it was a sweet shredfest for sure! Wethinks we’ll do it again soon. taken in The Bitter End by @the.z3

Tonight we celebrate Ike Willis! The voice of Zappa’s band for over a decade, and the voice of the Zappa community for decades more. We’ll be at the Bitter End in NYC playing all the Ike we can muster, and sending those 🎶 to him in the great beyond. See ya at 7! taken in The Bitter End by @the.z3

We just heard that the great Ike Willis has moved on. In 2015 at the Zappanale Festival in Germany we got to be the house band for the closing jam, and Ike was a guest. I remember talking to him before the set and suggesting that we play “Pound for a Brown.” He suggested we “keep it simple,” but I countered that Timmy’s got it on lock. He acquiesced, Timmy shredded and, for the only time that day, Ike got off his stool and took full charge of the stage. It’s a memory all 3 of us will hold dear forever. Thank you Ike, your personality is the sound of a long and incredible era of Frank’s music. You made so many people happy!

We will be paying special tribute to Ike this Wednesday at Bitter End in NYC. by @the.z3

As we prepare for a heady tour of Westfield MA & NYC, we take a moment to reflect back on a pancake 🥞 breakfast we shared 11 years ago with all of you and Ed Mann at Toad’s Place. Simpler, sweatier times that inspire us all to ride n’ rage again.
