I couldn’t decide on Brass, Chrome, Antique Brass (and so many metals in the kitchen), so colour seemed the best choice! by @the1890nest

Happy, sunny and full of light has been the goal for the kitchen. Making is ā€˜modern’, but warm and homely.
Will see everything start to look finished end of the month.
Just don’t know what tiles or panelling, or something else on the cabinet walls! Any ideas? taken in Bristol, United Kingdom by @the1890nest

Image 1 - How the kitchen looks now verses its progress!
Wall tiles, small fixtures…. No idea yet! But, hopefully by end of July, a ā€˜working’ kitchen again.
Image 2 - estate agent photo
3,4,5 - what I moved in to. Faux wall beams, artex walls, wood panelled ceiling, faux brick wall with oven & microwave, wood door frame.
6 - part of the kitchen render by @alfieandgeorgeuk
7, 8 - the kitchen was emptied in April, and wall removed by my brother The Cotswold Installations Company
9,10,11 - @crystalclear.bristol installing the backdoors, after I agonised over colours
12,13 - more agonising over wall covers
14 - taking 4 months to choose a yellow for the cabinets… and I didn’t even go with one of those!
15,16 - part of the plumbing & electrics (installed gas to kitchen, and heating. Had a full house rewire as the fuse board was so old, and the house being very dated re plumbing/ electrics)
17 - All boarding, insulation and plastering down by Nick in Bristol
18 - that dreaded nook, ready for the fridge freezer
19 & 20 - decisions on floor, walls, details.

I’m thinking Love Lane for the woodwork in the bathroom… the Coat Margate range is so vibrant, but also relaxed and fun.
I want something bold, as I’ve been using a lot of lighter/ mid tones in the house.
Or, would you suggest a different colour?
I’ve also order La Torre, Petticoat Lane and Spanked from Coat to also compare these.

Today a lovely lady came and collect a whole load of purple slate chips, I only now realise 20kg of these is worth £10, and someone just took like 20 bags 🤣 anyhow, would rather someone take something super useful for them!
I then cleared all the garden waste I had created from cutting back the trees, digging up weeds.
The plan is, clear out all the chip in the front and bag gardens, then maybe pave these areas, creating some plant bed areas for hydrangeas šŸ’–šŸ’š
Will buy some garden furniture this week too! (No daunt I’ll do this, then we won’t have a summer (sorry in advance šŸ™ˆā˜€ļø) by @the1890nest

How my house Reno is going…
In reverse order
When buying I was told by the surveyor to remove the render paint (a kind of render mixed with paint and sprayed on the white parts), we estimated £1k for removal. This would make the house breathable again.
I knew I would need to replace the windows and door, as there was damage, they were old, rising damp in the windows.
But, I didn’t envision, finding out that the stone behind the render wasn’t bath stone/ limestone, it was a Coade stone terracotta (no longer made), durable, but non breathable.
So to combat rising damp, and to bring breathability back to the house, I needed to repoint the brickwork (all that Bristol cement needed removing).
During this, every mason, builder, window installer pointed out the stone which has ā€˜dropped’ in the top window (arghh… next expensive job).
But, to date…
New sash pvc windows
Yellow front door
Repointing in lime mortar
Removal of most of the render paint
But, I’ve hit a speed bump, with the rest of this render being very difficult to remove… ideas welcome! by @the1890nest
