First day of school 🏫 and we dove right in. We also did a fun and delicious project of making a cross section of the earths core with jello, pudding, whipped cream, Oreos and m&ms. A stomach ache followed. 😂 by @the510learningacademy

Time flies!!! We must have been having fun. Well for most of it. We lost about a year and a half recently or so it seems and this kid has been such a trooper through it all. He’s definitely learned that life can throw some curveballs at times. by @the510learningacademy

We haven’t posted much this year yet but we are learning about our chickens as they grow. We got our first few eggs. These two guys Bryson is holding are Joey and Kelvin. They are sweet boys and even though they are giant they like the attention they get. by @the510learningacademy

How much work does it take for one apple pie? A lot!!! We went to @okawvalleyorchard 🍎🍏🍎 and took a homeschool tour. We picked a few apples and bought some of their delicious pre-picked apples. Then we used an amazing recipe for the filling. We peeled and sliced 4-5 apples, mixed with the juice of a lemon, 1 cup of brown sugar and sautéed the apples until the outsides were tender. Then we separated the apples from the juice and continued to cook the juice with cinnamon, and nutmeg until it caramelized. We poured apples and caramelized juice into a pie shell and covered. We did an egg wash on top and sprinkled a little sugar. Baked for 45 mins. There was patience involved for sure. It was amazing!

Learned a lot about how the fire department works. Thanks to Bro Price it was a detailed field trip to a much bigger fire department than we have at home. #homeschoolfieldtrip #firefightersrock🚒 by @the510learningacademy

What is Chicago without a little misty fog? We got to see and actual police chase and glad we jumped out of the way of the speeding police vehicle. #chicago by @the510learningacademy
