✨ Do not discount and ignore YOUR trauma. To you it may just seem like childhood bullying so it’s not as bad as someone who has experienced sexual abuse. But if it’s the driving force behind your thoughts, actions, and lifestyle, THAT WOUND MATTERS TO GOD and needs to be healed! ✨

“ALL OF US EXPERIENCE TRAUMA. In our conscious minds we tend to grade traumatic events according to severity. In some sense, trauma is quantifiable. The difficulty with this comparison is that it can reduce the importance of the “lesser” events to insignificance. As a result, people get stuck and ignore their issue because they compare it to someone else’s ‘worse trauma’.

When we undergo a traumatic event, our minds and or souls break off little parts of themselves as a protective mechanism, hiding away the memories and pain of the incident to help us cope with the trauma so we can function in life.” - Sam R. Brewster (Broken to Whole: Inner Healing for the Fragmented Soul)

Good people • Good vibes ✨

📍@refugehouston + @anvilhouston

Popped out for @sobergirlshtx first mocktail tour and had such a great time meeting some amazing women!

🥂 They’re hosting every first Friday of the month at a new spot “bringing sober and sober-curious (love that word!) women together to experience Houston, make new connections, and show what fun in sobriety can actually look like”.

& I said 🙋🏾‍♀️ Cause personally, ya girl tryna learn how to keep it cute and not on mute without the crutch and motivation of needing to have a drink to loosen up 🤭😅

✨ Follow their page for more info! & a shoutout to my gworl being an ambassadorrr doeee! @manismiles 🙌🏽🔥🫶🏽

🌱✨🙏🏽🤍 Stay connected to the Vine

“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.”

The only way I’d ever get a 20 second wash day 😅😂

feat:

@miss_jessies Jelly Soft Curls - a staple 😍 (and if you’re on a budget, they do sell the sample packs for around $2 at Target)
Gives AMAZING definition and hold w/o the crunch

@bouncecurl Volume Edgelift Brush - another staple! But make sure to detangle before using! They also have a newer brush that does both and w/o the bristles, so I will def be copping that!

…By Any Means 🖤

🫶🏽 @byanymeansmovie private screening hosted by @jmulan @jmulanagency 🥰

First of all…WOW…SUCH a great film!! 😭

Now, I won’t spoil it for ya’ll but 10 out of 10! Please go see it for yourselves! The only clues I’ll give is the reel song and that I accidentally dressed on theme 😂 (I was just going for “cool girl vibes”) 🤭✊🏾🪮

🪮 @shylaviebeauty - I did a quick wash and go with Ambunu leaves and a leave-in with aloe vera gel + olive oil + verrrry little honey. Air dried it for a few hours, then picked it out for volume and shaping

Anywho, it’s out today! Whatchu waiting for?! Go see it! 😉

I Got My People With Me 🥰🎂 #LoveMyTribe

📍RA Sushi

✨ Continuing the theme of New Beginnings, I didn’t initially plan to be there, but again, I found myself in an “OLD” place with a “NEW” perspective.

It’s actually one of my fave spots and holds so many special memories, moments, and conversations that I really, really cherish.

So when the DJ started playing all the #SHY2K hits out of nowhere (if you know you know 😂) I knew God was reminding me that He cares about ALL things concerning me... right down to curating all my fave 2000s R&B/Hip Hop hits. He knows what I like! 🤭

Prophetically and biblically, 8 is the number of new beginnings, resurrection, regeneration, and new creation ✨

🌱 Don’t let the old keep you from your new.

🥂 To new beginnings and becoming in Christ
