Max guides us through a dense and shifting landscape of deep, textural techno.

Layers emerge and dissolve, tension quietly builds, and unexpected moments surface. The mix moves with patience and intent, maintaining a hypnotic flow while continually revealing new details beneath its surface.

Serein Series 002
Niki & Nat

For this addition to the Serein series, I invited Niki (Jabba and the Hutt & Central ) to join me. We’ve played together a number of times over the years and always seem to meet somewhere in the middle of our musical spectrums. This mix is a reflection of that shared space, and of the sunny afternoon we recorded it on.

It unfolds slowly, gradually building through moments that drift between the moody and the playful. Rather than chasing anything, it lingers in atmosphere, with each transition held together by the common ground we’ve found in our sound. by @the_.birch

Serein 001

The first instalment of the Serein series. This final series within The Birch focuses on the same overarching atmospheres and organic soundscapes, but leans towards something a little more sensual, playful and groove led.

For the first edition, Just Finn (Spud Sounds, Bubble Radio, Jabba & the Hutt) provides just under two hours of percussive, moody yet uplifting music. Letting each track breathe, the mix unfolds through moments of tension and release, subtle energy shifts and deeper, more intimate moods giving his usual dose of sexiness to what he plays. Mire 002

FRNTLEFT @louiehollander (Fête Accomplie) delivers an hour of immersive, sinking dub techno for The Birch.

The first time I heard Louie play, alongside the Fête Accomplie residents, the energy moved between driving rhythms and half-time, a late night, head down atmosphere that balanced hypnosis and intrigue.

This mix leans into a slower, more directed space built on minimalism and the gradual layering of texture. Hope you enjoy the immersive and meditative progression shaped by the warmth and fuzz of some dub techno. by @the_.birch

Aether 001

The First part to the ambient/downtempo category of the The Birch mix series.

Curated by myself to set things in motion and to warm people through the Monday grog. Built from songs that have been soothing and scratching at my brain lately.

Music to come from friends and enough of it from me ….
Hope you enjoy x

Mire 001 - the first instalment.

A pursuit at building a slow, hypnotic mix from deeper, organic textures into something a bit more drivey, built from records I’ve been collecting recently.

More to come, with friends joining as the Mire series explores the patient, immersive forms of techno, while Birch as a whole expands on these ideas across wider electronic forms :) link in the bio
