“Within”

——————
في ايام بتترك فينا خدوش، و تجارب بتلوننا ب الوان ما اخترناها. منمرق بالعتمة، منتغيّر، و منحمل معنا أثر كل شي عشناه.
بس لما رسمت هي اللوحة، كنت عم فكر ان الامل مش دايما شي منلاقيه برّا. اوقات ب اكتر مراحلنا ظلمة، بضل في شي صغير عم ينمو جواتنا…لحد ما يلاقي طريقه للنور.

Some days leave scratches on us, and some experiences color us in shades we never chose. We go through darkness, we change, and we carry the traces of everything we’ve lived through.
But when I painted this piece, I was thinking about how hope isn’t always something we find outside of ourselves. Sometimes, even in our darkest moments, something small keeps growing within us… until it finds its way toward the light.
We may get scratched, colored, and changed… but hope will always find a way to grow from within.

مجموعة "الغرباء"
ولا مرة كنت بعرف الأشخاص اللي رسمتن…
بس كل مرة كنت حس إنو في شي لازم ينقال، حتى لو ما بعرف شو هو.
يمكن الفن مش بيجاوب على الأسئلة… يمكن بس بيخلّينا نوقف ونتطلع شوي أطول.

I never knew the people I painted…
Yet every time, I felt there was something that needed to be said, even if I couldn’t quite put it into words.
Maybe art doesn’t answer our questions…but it simply invites us to pause… and look a little longer.

كم مرة المجتمع بيقدر يغيّر الإنسان… قبل ما يبطل يعرف حاله؟
هيدي اللوحة رسمتها من كذا سنة.
كنت متخيّل امرأة عم تخسر لونها شوي شوي… مش لأنها ضعيفة،
بل لأن الحياة كانت عم تطلب منها تتنازل كل يوم عن جزء منها.
ومع هيك…
تركتلها زهور طالعة من جواتها.
لأن الأمل، بالنسبة إلي، ما بيجي من الظروف. بيجي من الإنسان نفسه.
بتوافق؟؟ 🪅

How much can society change a person…
before they no longer recognize themselves?
I painted this piece years ago.
I imagined an Arab woman slowly losing her colors…
not because she was weak, but because life kept asking her to give up a part of herself, little by little.
And yet… I let flowers grow from within her.
Because hope, to me, doesn’t come from circumstances.
It comes from the human spirit.

أوقات بفكر قديش خسارة إني ما صورت الـ process تبع هالقطع…
20 قطعة من الطين، وساعات طويلة من التجريب والغلط والصلح وإعادة المحاولة. كل وحدة منهن أخدت معها جزء صغير منّي♥️، ومع هيك مبسوط إنو كل وحدة لقيت بيتها الجديد ومكانها عند حدا بحبها.🏡
يمكن هيدا أحلى جزء بالفن…إنو بيتركك، وبيكفّي حياتو بمحل تاني.
خبروني…
أي وحدة سرقت قلبكن أكتر شي؟🪅😁. Sometimes I wish I had filmed the process behind these pieces…20 clay artworks, and countless hours of experimenting, making mistakes, fixing them, and starting over.

Each one took a small piece of my heart with it♥️, and yet I’m happy that every piece found a new home and now belongs to someone who loves it.🏡
Maybe that’s the most beautiful thing about art…
It leaves you, but continues its life somewhere else.
I’d love to know…

This work marks the fourth piece in the ATABA series.
“Returning To The Center”
Read to know more about it 👇🏼

Before awareness, there was wandering.
A dense inner forest. Fog without direction.
Movement without meaning.
As the French existential philosopher Sartre described, this is the human condition before purpose-motion before understanding why we move.
Then appear the locks.
Not obstacles, but moments of awareness.
Each lock is a question.
Each question breaks certainty.
The clay becomes transformation itself.
Material taken from the self,
reshaped through flowing movements-
mirroring what happens inside when change is accepted. l
As the ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus taught, stability is an illusion.
Change is the only constant.
At the center stands the circle.
The moment of arrival.
Where the “Ka” stands beneath “Aten” not in submission, but in balance.
As Plato understood,
knowledge is not something new we acquire, but something deeply remembered who we were before fear taught us to look away, before we forgot that an honest question can itself be a form of arrival.
If you are standing at the center of yourself now, what are you choosing to carry forward-and what is it time to finally let go of?

I Hmmmmed my first oil painting…
Last time i used oil on canvas was around 17 years ago, ive been lazy in my comfort zone with Acrylic! So i decided to challenge myself with a 1m*1m oil painting!
