Sometimes we forget how much a movie can shape a child. Not just because of the story it tells, but because of the characters we meet and the actors who make them feel real.✨️🙏I was 7 when I watched Jurassic Park for the first time.Looking back, that's where my fascination with science began.For years, I was convinced I'd become a paleontologist. I was obsessed with dinosaurs, fossils, and prehistoric life.🦖🦕Then came Eyewitness Dinosaur Hunter, documentaries, National Geographic...and later, astronomy. I was that kid who always wanted to know one more thing.As I got older, I genuinely thought I'd become a scientist. Even when I was in college, I was already on a path that I believed would lead me into academia or research.Life eventually took me in a different direction, and it turned out to be exactly the right one for me.Today, I get to tell stories, work in marketing, and bring ideas to life. Different field. Same curiosity.💫I know Jurassic Park was just one of many remarkable roles throughout Sam Neill's career. But through Dr. Alan Grant, he made science feel exciting and curiosity feel like an adventure.🙏✨️Thank you, Sam Neill, for giving a little girl a hero in a paleontologist's hat. ❤️ by @the_blinktale

🚨✨ EMERGENCY APPRECIATION JAR ✨🚨So... apparently, I came back from Cannes with something I definitely didn't plan to pack.An Emergency Appreciation Jar. 😅🫶Not because I went there looking for validation. To be honest, for quite some time now, I've been pretty okay just doing my thing... not only here on Blinktail, but also in my actual work and business life.But then Cannes happened. Canva Creative Cabana happened. And people happened.Creators, business owners, and yes, even Canva employees, said or wrote some genuinely beautiful, encouraging, hilarious, and unexpectedly heartwarming things to me.🙏✨️Some of these words hit me a lot harder than I expected.So I decided to keep them. You know.For future creative emergencies. 🙌 For those random days when the creative spark goes missing. For moments when my brain inevitably decides that everything I've ever made is terrible and that perhaps I should quit everything and open a small café somewhere in southern France. 😂☕🇫🇷This whole experience reminded me of something.If you genuinely appreciate someone's work, tell them.✨️If someone made you laugh, inspired you, taught you something, or simply made your day a little brighter, tell them.✨️And especially if you're someone whose words carry a little extra weight — because you've been doing this for years, because you're experienced, or because people simply respect what you do — please know that your encouragement can mean a lot more than you realize.🔥For creators like me, a sentence that took you five seconds to say can become something they carry with them for a very, very long time.Anyway.The Emergency Appreciation Jar will be staying somewhere nearby.Just in case. ✨💜#theblinktale #appreciation #feelingblessed😇 by @the_blinktale

While I was busy networking in Cannes, Missy was apparently dealing with a full-blown hat theft crisis. 🎩🐦 Unfortunately, her new hat was already targeted...😭Meanwhile, I had my own Cannes side quest.My brain was pretty much occupied with networking, sessions, ideas, and trying to absorb everything Cannes had to offer.But one day, during a short break between sessions, I was walking back from the the beach when I casually looked toward the sea and witnessed what can only be described as a freaking movie scene.😭😎An actual Adonis-looking man walking out of the the sea. Alone.I literally stopped walking.👀For a second, I genuinely thought he resembled a certain actor. So yes, I pushed my sunglasses up and tried to confirm my theory. But between the distance, the light, and my apparently terrible detective skills, I still couldn't make out his features clearly.What I could tell, though, was that he looked in my direction. And yep, he was smiling.🫠At that exact moment, I became painfully aware of how this whole investigation must have looked from his perspective. 😂So naturally, I laughed, turned around, and walked away.😬😅Later, my inner voice had some feedback:"Girl. You can fly across the world, network with complete strangers, and handle international events just fine. But one random cinematic moment on a beach and suddenly you're shy? Since when? What happened to our curiosity?" 😭Apparently, It's time to shake off a little rust.😅Anyway, enjoy Missy's version of Cannes. Cannes is in full swing this week, which means the city is currently overflowing with marketers, founders, creatives, tech companies and more ideas than any one person can realistically keep up with.🌞One of the perks of being here is that many brands open their doors to the wider creative community. Today I spent some time at Canva Creative Cabana listening to conversations about branding, storytelling and audience engagement.What keeps surprising me isn't the technology.It's the ambition.🔥You hear people casually talking about products they're building, communities they're growing, partnerships they're creating and ideas they're determined to make happen.🙌It's a good reminder that every big thing usually starts as a slightly ridiculous idea that somebody decides to take seriously.Also, despite not purchasing a ticket, booking a flight or contributing to accommodation costs, Missy somehow made it to Cannes too. 😎🐾 by @the_blinktale
