I feel like nobody talks enough about how hard it is to come back from a trip. 🥹 Leaving somewhere beautiful, getting to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and just exist in the moment without the weight of everyday responsibilities. And then suddenly, you’re back home, back to the routines, the stress, the never-ending to-do lists, and the reality of everyday life.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s something so comforting about being home again, sleeping in your own bed, and being reunited with your favorite people and pets. 🤍 But there’s also a little sadness in leaving somewhere that made you feel lighter, more present, and more at peace. Sometimes it’s not just missing the place you visited. It’s missing the version of yourself that existed there.

Kingdom of Ash❤️‍🔥

I struggled to find the words when thinking about how to review Kingdom of Ash because… how do you even put all of this into words? 🥹

KOA was everything—love, heartbreak, loss, grief, power, renewal, and found family all woven together in a story that completely consumed me.

The torment Aelin endured at the hands of Maeve was truly heartbreaking, but there was also something so powerful and empowering about watching her endure, survive, and find her way back to herself. ❤️‍🩹

And the battles?! The war was so action-packed and intense. I was holding my breath, emotionally wrecked, and completely invested the entire time.

Lysandra, Manon, Elide, and Yrene have officially earned a place among some of my favorite characters from any book. I loved watching their strength, resilience, and determination shine throughout this story.

And perhaps what I loved most was seeing everyone come together, each bringing their own strengths and sacrifices, to fight for the possibility of a better world. The found family, the friendships, the love, the hope… it was all so beautifully done.

Kingdom of Ash broke my heart, put it back together.
