~ How do I share a life - In just one single day
The life of a man who influenced mine in every single way
When you ask ' how am I' and I have no words to say
Please understand I'm coming to terms
With his absence every day.

He was a man of honour - he always kept his word
He was a man of opinion and wanted to be heard
He was a man of courage - he stood proud and held his ground
He was a man of strength - we felt safe when he was around.

He was a man of dreams, and he wrote them all down
In hard bound books and boxes
Still waiting to be found.

He was a man of stories
His memory clear and bright.
Over wine around the table
He'd tell them late at night.

He was a man of thought
and sometimes sat quite still
He carried pain for loved ones lost
Those stories - he didn't spill.

He was a man of culture
Travel food and wine
His passion for the arts
I'm grateful to become mine.

He was a man of music,he could not live without
And when he could no longer hold his sticks
a light within went out.

He was a man of family,his greatest pride and joy
His girls born first,he was overjoyed
But round 3, he got his boy.

So when you ask ' How am I and I've got no words to say
Please understand I've lost a man
Who shaped me in every way.

So, how do I share a life in just one single day?
I simply tell you I loved him in each and every way.

June 16th, 2025 🕊

2.16pm.

12 months.

Just prior, we had our last moment together.

I asked you to call the ancestors to walk you home

I watched you take your last breath while Foster & Allen sung Maggie.

Then gently & quietly, you left.

I still text.

I heard the word untethered used to describe how a person felt when their mum died.

That's how I often feel.

Untethered.

I thought I would have something more philosophical to say by now.

Or a body of work from nights up late.

But i don't.

Uncharted waters these.

Alittle off the radar, a little lost for words.

Getting used to a life without the Mazarati.

Unapologetically.
