Jared #a257721 is still available for adoption. 🐾Zero inquiries. 🥺 But I know his forever family is out there. In the mean time, here’s a cute video of him co-existing with my cat. He does have a prey drive, but after two months of counter conditioning, he has learned to ignore her… but I’m still cautious and have close supervision when they are near each other. 🐾#305dogs #urgentdogsofmiami #305 #dogsofinstagram taken in Miami-Dade Animal Services by @the_butt_scratch_files

Big milestone yesterday for Jared! ☕️🐾✨
We ventured out for his very first crowded outing to #PasionDelCielo cafe in Midtown Miami to meet up with shelter volunteer (and Jared’s number 1 fan) @markirae . At first, the hustle and bustle was a lot for him—lots of passing cars, lively families, and other dogs had him feeling a bit nervous.
With a lot of patience, high-value treats, and a pup cup, Jared realized he was completely safe. Before long, he managed to settle right down, take in the sights, and just relax by our side. 🐶🍦
Watching him build confidence in real time and regulate his nerves in a busy environment made my heart burst. I am so incredibly proud of how brave he was! Every small step is a giant leap for this sweet boy. 🥹💖
Quick Jared Recap:
💟 3 years old | 60 lbs
💟 House trained & crate trained
💟 Unfazed by storms & loves car rides!
💟 Cat-workable under structured guidance
💟 Needs a poultry-free / salmon diet for allergies
💟 Available for adoption through Miami-Dade Animal Services (Currently in foster!)💟 Learning to Trust: Takes time with new people, but thrives with food bribes and gentle patience.
💟 People & Kids: Friendly with adults and kids of all genders! He thrives in a home that respects his personal space.
💟 Consent-Based Petting: Prefers to make the first move—let him come to you when he’s ready. He adores back and neck scratches, but kindly asks to skip pats on top of his head.
📩 DM me if you’re interested in meeting / adopting Jared or learning more about him!

Help all the good boys and girls at your local shelter. If you’re in Miami, go to Miami Dade Animal Services in Doral off the 826 and NW 36 street and go foster the #305dogs and/or #305cats in need. They are over capacity and need the help of the #305 community. My foster dog Jared #a2577217 is looking for his forever home. If you like a Velcro, 70 pounds lap dog that gives you endless love, this is the dude for you. DM me for a meet and greet. taken in Miami-Dade Animal Services by @the_butt_scratch_files

Two years. At just three years old, Jared has spent two-thirds of his life staring at cold shelter walls, watching potential families walk right past his kennel. When you’ve been forgotten for that long, the world can feel scary. 💔
💟 A Quiet Soul: He hardly barks at all. His foster thought he was mute for the first two weeks.
💟 Learning to Trust: He takes a little time to warm up to new people. After two years of shelter life, he just needs someone willing to show him that gentle hands don’t leave.
💟 Simple Joys: After years on hard concrete, grass is his ultimate happy place. Watching him flop into “roach” position and soak in the sun will break your heart in the best way.
💟 Certified “Loverboy”: Named by shelter volunteers because, despite everything he’s been through, he just wants to crawl into your lap and hold onto you.
💟 Grateful House Guest: He is fully crate trained and potty trained, working so hard to be the perfect boy for the person who finally chooses him.
💟 Unbothered & Brave: Thunderstorms don’t scare him at all—he’s already weathered the hardest storm of his life: living 2/3 of his life in a shelter.
💟 The Ultimate Copilot: He absolutely treasures car rides, just happy to finally be going somewhere instead of being left behind.
💟 Eager to Please: Super food motivated and working hard on his leash manners every day.
💟 Special Care: Needs a simple poultry-free, fish/salmon diet to keep his skin allergies healed and comfortable.
💟 Cat Status 🐱: Workable with calm, dog-savvy cats! Needs structured management and guidance, as running cats still trigger his chase drive.
💟 His Ideal Match: Needs an experienced dog owner who understands that the deepest bonds take a little time and patience to build.
Jared has spent two-thirds of his life waiting behind bars for a family that never came. Please don’t let him spend another night thinking he isn’t enough. Share his post or send a message to finally bring Loverboy home. 📩✨

Foster doggie Jared #A2577217 favorite place to let loose is anywhere with grass. Thank goodness for @hillspet science diet for sensitive skin, @douxo.us and @zoetispetcare #cytopoint . This is the terrific trifecta to keep his skin allergies away while he enjoys himself. Every dog deserves this feeling. DM me if you’d like to meet and greet and adopt him. #305dogs #urgentdogsofmiami #dogs taken in Miami-Dade Animal Services by @the_butt_scratch_files
