Classic and Modern Wedding Cake

Can a wedding cake be modern and traditionally classic at the same time? We believe it can! Lambeth wedding cakes are known steeped in European history and then detailed by Joseph Lambeth. This is the kind of wedding cake design that elevates that special moment for the couple and captures the attention of the guests at reception. The best wedding cakes are timeless and detailed enough to be its own centerpiece. If you’re planning a New Orleans wedding for and desire a beautiful, customized wedding cake with quality ingredients and craftsmanship, contact us today.

Behind the scenes of a New Orleans wedding delivery

Trellis lattice, over piped garland swags, and hand-formed grape clusters come together on this custom wedding cake, built entirely around the couple’s own vision rather than a template. This style of cake design takes a at least 12 hours to complete, with every swag measured and every trellis line piped by hand.

This is the kind of wedding cake design that elevates that special moment of the cake cutting ceremony for the couple and captures the attention of the guests at reception — timeless, textured, and detailed enough to be its own centerpiece. If you’re planning a New Orleans wedding for winter 2026 or 2027 and desire a beautiful, elegant wedding cake this detailed, this is exactly what we specialize in: custom wedding cakes, detailed design work, and quality ingredients and craftsmanship.

Wedding Cake Details

This Lambeth-style wedding cake didn’t start here — it started in our sketch pan, where we revisited our archives, studied what works, and mapped out a design worthy of your moment.
Three tiers. Crisp white. A soft, romantic blush that whispers elegance before the first slice is ever cut.
Lambeth cakes are never copy-paste. Each one is drawn from a deep library of patterns, then reimagined for the couple it’s made for. That’s the difference between a beautiful cake and your wedding cake.

There’s so much to love about this day! The dress, the flowers, the cakes (Y’all! Be sure to swipe through!), the venue (gotta love a NOMA wedding), but most of all the people. Kyndall and James, we were delighted to spend your wedding day with you and your sweet families. Honestly, we can’t stop thinking about it. 💕💕

We were deeply honored when the mother of the bride trusted us to create a wedding cake for her daughter’s wedding. This custom wedding cake was created for a romantic wedding celebration in Jackson, Mississippi. Our goal was create a wedding cake that felt timeless, artistic, and unforgettable.

We created a cake almost two years ago for her older daughter’s wedding here, in New Orleans. Being asked to return and design another heirloom-style wedding cake for their family was such an incredible honor.

This five-tier modern wedding cake featured soft white tones with hand-painted floral details inspired by the flowers being used. Over 30 hours went into painting the floral element by hand to create a refined, fine art wedding cake design that felt both romantic and modern.

We are based in New Orleans and serve clients throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, We love creating custom wedding cakes that become part of the overall wedding experience and atmosphere.

Here is a close up of the details of this romantic hand-painted floral wedding cake created entirely with edible paints and textured brushwork. Each tier becomes a canvas featuring blush roses, soft peach blossoms, powder blue florals, and sage garden foliage for a fine art botanical wedding cake design. taken in Fairview Inn by @the_cakeartistry

There’s truly nothing like getting married in the heart of New Orleans. With such a beautiful couple, a breathtaking wedding venue, and the charm of this iconic city as the backdrop, every detail comes together seamlessly. And when the wedding cake is designed to reflect the couple’s unique style, it becomes a sweet centerpiece of the celebration.

At The Cake Artistry, we’re honored to create unforgettable cakes for life’s most meaningful moments.
‌
This wedding cake design holds a special place in our hearts—it was dreamt up almost a year before we even met this beautiful couple with @a_cake_story_ . On a whim, I shared the concept during our first meeting… and just like that, it was the one.
‌
Moments like this remind us: when vision, timing, and trust align, something truly magical happens. This kind of connection is why we do what we do.
‌
Wishing you all happiness your hearts can hold, Lacresha and Herman.
