It was an honor to meet the dark lord himself. The man behind one of the most scary villains in movie history, he-who-shall-not-be-named. I am of course talking about the man behind Voldemort: Mr. Ralph Fiennes himself.
Besides this, he played in a lot of other awesome movies like The English Patient, Skyfall, Spectre, No Time To Die, In Bruges, Conclave, Schindler's List, The Menu, Red Dragon, The Hunger Games, The King's Man, 28 Years Later and many many more.

It was so awesome to meet this living legend at @heroesworldbelgium 🙌

The month of Horror is upon us and to celebrate the Halloween season, we look back on meeting one of the biggest names in Horror today! Way back in 2016, we had the honor to meet the one and only @officialrobertenglund who is mostly known for his role as Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Ove the years we saw him at many more conventions, but we will never forget that first time in 2016.

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of being invited by Cinema in Concert to attend the premiere of the reprise of Efteling in Concert at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. And what a magical evening it was! Unfortunately Carola couldn't come, but as a lifelong Efteling fan, Itook one for the team and went to Amsterdam.

Cinema in Concert brings the magic of the big screen to life with live orchestral music, creating a unique experience where film, music and storytelling come together. We already attended several of their events, where an iconic movie comes to life with live orchestral music. While the Efteling has no direct connection to cinema, @cinema.in.concert took it upon them to create an enchanting visual experience immersing you into the world of Efteling and of course all of this is supported by the fantastic music of the park brought to life by the award-winning Metropole Orchestra.

During the festive pre-show, we were also treated to a very special announcement: Efteling in Concert will return in 2027 for Efteling’s 75th anniversary, with a spectacular new edition at the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch!

The concert itself was as magical as the @efteling itself and I had an amazing time. It was also great to catch up with @magicwithmarleen and @castlecruisebabe
For tickets check out the channels of Cinema in Concert!

Thank you for an amazing night!

Last Friday, I went to see @dannyveramusic at @pltheaters and what a show it was. After the show I got a chance to meet the man himself and he was so nice. I also bought a concert registration on Bluray and CD, which he also signed. Great moment and Mr. Vera...you rock!

Yesterday I went to the recording of Dit Was Het Nieuws which is one of my favorite Dutch TV programmes. Two Dutch comedians (Peter Pannenkoek and Jan Jaap van der Wal) and a host (Harm Edens), discuss the news of the week in a humouristic way. Each week they have 2 guests and this week the guests were Karim Amghar and Annemarie Lekkerkerker.
It's always fun to attend a TV show recording and the fact that it's one of my favorites only added to the fun. After the show I got to meet Peter Pannenkoek and got to take a picture with him. It's always great to see that someone is as nice in real life as on television.

I recently watched Redbad, a Dutch movie from 2018 directed by Roel Reiné, based on the legendary Frisian king Radboud.

Set in the 8th century, the film follows Redbad as the Franks invade his kingdom. After being blamed for the defeat and his father’s death, Redbad is cast out to sea. Somehow, he survives and ends up in Denmark, where he learns more about their culture and eventually builds the strength to return home.

The film stars Gijs Naber as Redbad, alongside Lisa Smit, Huub Stapel, Derek de Lint, Loes Haverkort, Søren Malling, Jonathan Banks and Jack Wouterse. It’s a Dutch production, with both Dutch and English spoken throughout.

And recently I actually visited Kasteel Radboud (Castle Redbad).

The funny thing is that the castle isn't actually from Redbad’s time. It was built centuries later, around the late 13th century, on the orders of Count Floris V. It was one of several castles built to control West Frisia and is now the only one of those five that remains. It was later named after the famous Frisian king.

Have you seen Redbad? And have you ever visited Kasteel Radboud?

I watched The Death of Robin Hood… and unfortunately, it wasn't really for me.

I actually went in quite curious because this is such a different take on the Robin Hood story. Instead of the legendary hero we're used to, this version focuses on an older, battle-worn Robin Hood dealing with his violent past and the possibility of redemption. Hugh Jackman takes on the title role, alongside Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe.

But for me, it was just too slow. I spent quite a long time wondering where the story was actually going, and unfortunately I never really got pulled into it.

I can appreciate the idea of giving such a familiar story a completely different angle, but this particular interpretation didn't really work for me. It felt more like a slow character study than the Robin Hood story I was expecting.

Beautifully made? Definitely. An interesting concept? Absolutely. But did I enjoy watching it? Not really.

Have you seen The Death of Robin Hood? I'm curious what you thought!
