Introducing @liviaaflorea.now 🌟

Officially joining the Creative MBA faculty this fall to teach Funding and Fundraising, though in many ways, she’s already family. Livia has been part of our world since 2024.

Livia curates cities. She’s an independent curator, cultural manager, fundraiser, and researcher working at the intersection of art, public space, and social change, and she brings a distinct angle to our funding module: while Cristian Negruțiu brings a venture capital lens focused on startups, and Alin Angheluță brings deep experience and a powerful network in funding opportunities, Livia brings the perspective of someone who has raised funds for art and public space at scale — a founder’s view from inside the cultural sector itself.

She founded buchARTest, the association behind Artown Now – Anuala de Artă Urbană, Romania’s largest urban art event, responsible for 500+ murals, installations, and public art interventions across the country.

Livia is an Aspen Institute Romania fellow, and has collaborated with institutions like MARe, Global Shapers Bucharest Hub, and the Climate Change Summit.

Who owns an idea? Where does inspiration end and intellectual property begin? How can creatives protect their work while continuing to collaborate, innovate, and create value?

These are some of the #questions we explored during the Intellectual Property Law for Creative and Cultural Industries course at CREATIVE MBA @ Bucharest Business School (BBS @ ASE).

In a world where ideas travel instantly and creative work increasingly intersects with technology, understanding intellectual property is no longer reserved for lawyers. It has become an essential competence for artists, designers, entrepreneurs, cultural managers, content creators, and creative leaders.

From copyright and trademarks to licensing, authors' rights, and the challenges brought by digital technologies and artificial intelligence, the course encouraged our participants to think strategically about the protection and commercialisation of creative assets.

For the creative industries, intellectual property is not merely a legal framework. It is an ecosystem that enables creators to safeguard their work, build sustainable careers, foster partnerships, and transform ideas into cultural and economic value.

At CREATIVE MBA, we believe that future creative leaders need to understand not only how to create, but also how to protect, manage, and leverage creativity responsibly and strategically.

Dupa ani de studiu a acetui sector, intalniri cu profesionisti creativi, organizarea, moderarea si participarea ca speaker la conferinte din domeniul creativ si cultural, pot spune urmatorul lucru:
👉 Sectorul Creativ din Europa are oameni foarte talentati, dar care se lupta sa prospere – si am cateva cifre care sustin aceasta afirmatie:

Datele Eurostat arata ca:
📊 78% dintre persoanele care lucreaza in domeniul creativ, artistic si al divertismentului in UE activeaza in micro-intreprinderi (sub 10 angajati). 📊 In tari precum Olanda si Suedia, peste 10% din toate afacerile sunt culturale.

Dar dincolo de cifre exista o realitate mai profunda:
🔴 Creativii ajung la epuizare incercand sa faca totul singuri – de la proiecte pentru clienti, la administrare, finantare si marketing. Ei trebuie sa faca 100% din sarcini pentru costuri mai mici, in timp ce raman conectati la spatiul lor interior creativ. Nu e deloc usor. 🔴 Idei geniale mor pentru ca nu exista un plan clar pentru a le transforma in afaceri sustenabile. 🔴 Oameni talentati parasesc sectorul pentru ca „pasiunea” nu plateste facturile.

Acum 2 ani, am fost invitat sa fac parte din echipa de cadre didactice a unui nou program de masterat.

Disciplina propusa a fost “Bugete și indicatori de performanță pentru inițiativele culturale și creative” pentru acest program nou dezvoltat de Bucharest Business School si FABIZ - ASE.

Am acceptat. Dupa cateva luni, am intalnit prima generatie de studenti. Anul acesta, m-am bucurat sa-i vad ajungand la etapa finala: sustinerea disertatiei.

CREATIVE MBA > Creative & Cultural Industries MBA by Bucharest Business School (ASE) este acel tip de program unde poti vedea cu adevarat Creativitatea & Leadership-ul in actiune.
Ce apreciez cu adevarat este experienta diversa a celor implicati, veniti din sectoarele creative si culturale. In plus, imi place faptul ca sunt interesati sa isi dezvolte afacerile sau initiativele creative, vor sa invete mai mult despre administrarea afacerilor, leadership si management, dar si sa inteleaga mai bine legatura dintre business-urile creative si cifre.
