Fortunate enough to have been invited to see the exhibition of the photographs of Nagas by the Japanese photographer, Yuzo Morita.

Here's a few of my favorites from the exhibit.
These photographs date back to 1979 takes us back to what Nagaland looked like almost 50 years ago.

These peices are much more than just photographs but a glimpse of the past, a time machine, relics of precious memories.

There is nothing but appreciation and gratitude to the people who made this possible.

Ps. All copyrights belong to the NMoe, Osaka and Yuzo Morita, we don't own any of these works. by @the_desi_naga

Moments I had for myself.
🕊️ by @the_desi_naga

Corners around Northeast which intrigued me.

Art corner around Shillong.
I came here to visit St. Anthony's College where I had played basketball years ago when I had previously visited. I was luckily able to reconnect with my old memories and played some games. As I go out and wait for my cab to take me to my hotel, this scene caught my eyes. I felt tired yet content, appreciative of my time in Shillong as it was a moment to stop and ponder about the opportunity I had this day.

Cowboys at Laitlum!
I had been to Laitlum in recent times but never noticed Khasi cowboys. This day was a bummer for me, at least so I thought . The weather was playing games with me. I hesitantly bought tickets to enter Laitlum although there was absolutely no visibility of the canyon. I witnessed these beautiful animals being rode in to have a drink and it reminded me of a memory long ago when I had visited Himachal Pradesh about ten years ago when I had learnt a bit about riding. I proceeded to stay for another ten minutes marveling at the human capacity to tame these beautiful beast and the cooperation we've built to survive through the ages.

Water traffic man at Wei Sawdong!
Amongst the bizzare looking rocks by the waterfall, there sits a man with sharp eyes monitoring people in the waterfalls. Crucial work ensuring that people are safe and also the place remains beautiful. The man's job is many yet he sits with patience, his eyes never wandering.

Wei Sawdong falls!
The water cascading down the rocks, what a scene! I've been to over roughly 15 waterfalls in a week but this by far went down as my favourite. The light trek which felt refreshing complimented by the warm air of summer and surprisingly clear day in the wettest part of the world during monsoon. It was such an awesome experience where nothing too crazy happened but you're more than happy at the end of the day.

Oh the pleasant morning walks at Awrah Caves!
Although the place is known for the caves, in my opinion, the walk to the caves was the highlight of this experience. We arrived early in the morning before much of the tourists had arrived. The path was well maintained and the weather perfect for a walk, the birds by @the_desi_naga
