So, what's next for The Image Maven?

More of what matters.

More opportunities for women to connect beyond the surface.

More conversations that challenge us, inspire us and occasionally have us laughing until our bellies hurt.

More experiences that remind us there's still so much of life to enjoy, explore and discover.

And yes, still nuff style, confidence and unapologetic self-expression!

Bringing women together isn't something I've just discovered. Over the years, I've enjoyed the experiences, friendships and memories that come from my biennial girls' trips and I've had the privilege of building communities and creating spaces where people connect.

Unplugged was another expression of something I've always believed in: there's something powerful about women making time for each other and, just as importantly, making time for themselves.

It's also a natural extension of the initial idea behind the Image Maven.

From personal image consulting, styling and confidence-building workshops to thoughtfully curated women's gatherings, retreats and experiences, we're creating more opportunities for women to invest in themselves.

Because looking good, feeling good and living well shouldn't exist in separate conversations.

We're not moving away from what we've always stood for. We're making room for more ways to bring it to life.

This is The Image Maven. And we're just getting started.

Now tell me, what would you love to experience next? A retreat, a themed brunch, a confidence workshop or an evening of real conversation?

I've been thinking about a question I asked during Unplugged:
Who am I when I take away all the titles?

Not what I do, what people know me for or the expectations I carry.
Just me.

I think many of us don't give ourselves enough time to answer that.

We spend so much of our lives being needed, holding everything together and making sure everyone else is okay. Somewhere along the way, we can forget to show up for ourselves.

When was the last time you asked:
What about me? Who am I becoming beneath these responsibilities? What parts of me have I put aside?

For me, this is never been just about clothes, personal style or how a woman presents herself. It's about the woman wearing them: her story, confidence, identity and the parts of herself she may have lost touch with while being everything to everyone else.

Sometimes, reconnecting with yourself begins with looking in the mirror and asking:
Do I still see me?

That's what I hope to create through The Image Maven: opportunities for women to see themselves differently, express who they are authentically, and feel confident being that woman without apology.

Because the woman behind all the titles deserves to be seen, too.

So today, I'm passing that question on to you:
Who are you when you take away all the roles you play?

Not who the world needs you to be. Who are YOU?

Share your answer in the comments, even if it's just one word. I'd genuinely love to hear from you. 💜

Funny how we can make time for everybody and everything...except ourselves.

Work. Family. Commitments. The never ending to-do list. And somewhere in the middle of all that, we forget that we need tending to as well.

Unplugged wasn't about escaping our lives.

It was about making space to enjoy them. To laugh without watching the clock. To have meaningful conversations. To simply BE.

No pressure to perform. No expectation to have it all together.

Just women, connection, a little laughter and some much-needed exhaling.

This is another side of The Image Maven. Curating experiences that remind women they matter, too.

When last did you do something simply because it was good for YOU?

We've always been about more.

More than the clothes. More than the colours. More than the image.

Because how you show up in the world has never been just about what you're wearing.

Sometimes, it's about having the confidence to be seen.

Sometimes, it's about finding the courage to take up SPACE.

And sometimes, it's about giving yourself permission to step away from everything and simply BE.

Last weekend, we brought that philosophy to life in a different way.

And something tells me we're just getting started.

The Image Maven. More than what you see.

Thanking @keepitmovingwithshana @simone_bash_ @keyshaklove @r.thompson40 @serenitywoods_mb for being a part of this evolution

Come unplug with me at the coziest cabin in Fraserhood, @serenitywoods_mb!

The cabin sits on a lush property of over 100 acres and boasts lots of green spaces to go on nature walks, do your morning meditation and just unplug and connect with nature.

The cabin provides the perfect backdrop for the recently concluded retreat, Unplugged - A weekend to exhale hosted by @the_image_maven.

Sometimes you have to intentionally step away from the hustle, the grind, the deadlines, the responsibilities and the constant need to be “on”… and simply exhale.

This weekend was exactly that. A chance to unplug, slow down, laugh a little louder, rest a little longer and reconnect with some amazing women. There’s something special about being in spaces where you can just be, no titles, no expectations, no agenda. Just good energy, meaningful conversations, sisterhood and joy.

As women, we spend so much time pouring into our careers, businesses, families and communities that we can forget that rest and connection are important too. Huge shoutout to @the_image_maven and @serenitywoods_mb for curating such a beautiful weekend. From the experiences to the little details that made everything feel intentional. You created the perfect space for us to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

POV: When yuh reach dem age and apparently bare shoulders count as being naked.

Mi nah go lie, at 48, showing up to work with one shoulder and arms out got me feeling like someone gonna call HR.

Because arms + shoulders exposed = HALF NAKED.
We used to call this fashion. Now? Apparently is too much information.

So instead of leaving this sweater in the “evening wear” department, I gave it a 9–5 promotion.
Same sweater.
Same pants.
Just a lil styling intervention.
Add the scarf, switch up the accessories, throw on Mary Jane's and BOOM....ready fi work.

And that’s the reminder:
Before yuh go buy something new, SHOP YUH CLOSET.
Sometimes the outfit is already there.
It just needs you to see it differently.
