POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A little late for an anniversary post, but I think this video was worth waiting for.

More than two years of Thursday mornings at @HetGymlokaal West.
7:30 am, every week.

Some mornings are full. Some are quiet. Some are dark, freezing, rainy Amsterdam mornings when getting out of bed already feels like the first yoga posture of the day.
And then there are the people who keep coming back. Week after week.
I don’t think I say this enough: I’m very grateful for you 🙌. Teaching this class has become much more than standing at the front of the room and guiding movement. Over these two years there have been so many bodies, different energies, different versions of the same postures, breathwork, little moments of meditation, difficult mornings and very beautiful ones.
And somehow, while I’m there to give something, the class gives a lot back to me too! It gives me strength, structure, curiosity and a way to keep exploring this practice that I love.
Music is a big part of it. I spend probably far too much time curating those Thursday morning playlists, finding tracks, building an atmosphere and playing with the way movement and music can meet. It’s one of my favourite parts of preparing a class.

This time-lapse of last June captured a whole hour: my mat, the practice, assistance to the students and the light slowly changing as the sun came up.
The perspective is mind blowing: I love that you can actually see the morning arriving with the beautiful trees facing west while I am guiding you with the sun in front of me the whole time facing east 🌞.

So, two years and counting.
Thank you to everyone who has shared these Thursday mornings with me.
See you at 7:30. 🤍

When Things Start to Feel Like Music ✍🏼

A walk in nature and simple moments with friends and dogs created a sense of calm presence, where everything felt more vivid and connected. With no rush or tension, small sensory detail (like touch, sound, and atmosphere) became meaningful, revealing a subtle “background music” that gave coherence to the experience. The reflection: life feels richer not by adding more, but by making space to fully notice and receive what is already there.

How do you enjoy nature and friendship? I am curious. Let me know in the comments 🫶🏼👇🏼

The world doesn’t appear all at once: it unfolds a few meters ahead.🗺️🚲

Cycling through Amsterdam, everything is micro-adjustments: anticipate, adapt, move. What looks effortless is constant fine-tuning.

Same with life. You don’t need the full map. Direction is enough. What you focus on shapes what becomes real. The rest fades. Working with what’s in front of me helps me to adjust as I go. And things organise themselves around motion: taking action, doing movement, progress as you do them.

Any thoughts? Let me know in the comment 🫶🏼

The Privilege of Choice: Being Independent… and Still Choosing Softness ☕️🌅👇🏼

Two friends. Sunday coffee. A beautiful view.
And a surprisingly big question:

What does it mean to be feminine today?

For decades women fought for freedom:
the freedom to work, earn, decide, and live independently.

But equality brought another question with it.

If we all CAN do everything the exact same manner…
do we actually WANT to?

Because men and women are not identical.
Different bodies. Different rhythms. Different strengths.

And maybe that’s not a problem to solve.

Most of us carry both energies:
the one that acts, builds, structures…
and the one that receives, senses, softens.

Some people lean more one way.
Some the other.

And maybe relationships work best when we stop competing over which one is “right”
and start leaving space for each other’s.

Not sameness.
Not hierarchy.

Just space.
