Meet Selina, Founder and Head Chef of The Queen of the Kitchen Catering & Events and The Jerk Box. Being of Jamaican and Dominican descent, having a business that celebrates Caribbean culture, flavours, and traditions is a true blessing and something I am proud to share with the world. A little secret about me: I couldn't cook! My poor husband had to endure burnt meals and grainy rice while I learned my way around the kitchen. However, I pushed myself, kept practicing, and eventually discovered a genuine passion and love for cooking. Following a tragic loss, I found the courage and determination to turn that passion into a business. What started as a dream has grown and is still growing into something I am incredibly proud of. I am forever grateful to my dad and husband, who have invested so much time, effort, and belief into helping make this dream a reality. I am also thankful to our family for always stepping in to help with the children when we have events, allowing us to continue growing the business. Most importantly, thank you to every friend, customer, and client who has purchased from us, booked us for an event, recommended us, or supported us along the way. Your support means more than words can express, and we would not be where we are today without you. Thank you for being part of our journey. God Bless Selina❤️ 📷Headshot by @charliegraystudio - - #businessowner #caribbean #food #cateringservice #streetfood by @the_jerk_box

My first Cannes Lions, and one activation that really stood out to me was Canva's Creative Cabana. 💛🎉 The energy, the colour, the creativity it was more than a branded space, it was somewhere people genuinely wanted to spend time. Canva is already part of our business. From business cards and menus to flyers, social posts and reel covers, it's the platform I use to bring our ideas to life. It was pretty special to experience the brand in person after using it behind the scenes for so many years. Walking away, I couldn't help but imagine what a Caribbean-inspired hospitality experience could look like alongside a brand like Canva at Cannes Lions👀 @canva Here's to dreaming big... and to my first of many Cannes Lions. #CannesLions #Canva #CanvaCreate #SmallBusiness by @the_jerk_box

Real Jerk starts from scratch 🔥🇯🇲 We make our own homemade jerk marinade packed with bold flavours, then marinate our chicken for a full 24 hours so every bite is loaded!🌶️🤤 Once it’s soaked up all that goodness, it hits the grill for that smoky char before being served with our signature jerk sauce 🔥🍗 Fresh. Authentic. Full of flavour. Who’s hungry? 👀 #JerkChicken #CaribbeanFood #StreetFoodUK #JerkMarinade #Foodie by @the_jerk_box
