The Long Draw: A community coming into awareness by drawing itself, one road trip at a time.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The actor Hugh Laurie said “America is too big to know itself.” If that’s true, then the global social-media driven world of art and culture, in its even grander scale, must know itself even less. The Long Draw is thus born from the desire to help this community get to know itself through drawing, one road trip at a time.

Much has been said in the past about our friendship and this drawing marks a turning point that has changed us both in many ways- here is @estebanog_art - the first time I tried to draw him, about a eight years after meeting him. We didn’t know it, but this “Weekend at Avi’s” was the beginning of big things. There are many, many more drawings that follow, most of them more successful than this. He’s a dear friend and an incredible artist. Love you, brother and I can wait for our next adventure! by @the_longdraw

While The Long Draw has officially yet to begin, the duo of Jean-Pierre and Esteban have been drawing together for years, all over the Eastern US and Colombia. It was there in the magnificent and vibrant city of Bogota that the duo hatched a plan to bring The Long Draw to the world. If you ever get a chance to visit Yumi Yumi in La Cabrera, have seat at the bar, grab a drink and celebrate the spot where “The LD” came to be. (Sketchbooks are A MUST for the real experience.) taken in Yumi Yumi by @the_longdraw
