🍺🍂 OKTOBERFEST AT THE MILL INN! 🍂🍺

It’s just around the corner, so here are a few more details on our Oktoberfest celebrations!

This is genuinely one of the things we looked forward to celebrating the most during those cold nights renovating the pub, so to say we’re excited is an understatement.

Lederhosen is strongly encouraged. Sion’s so excited he’s been wearing his since June. So get your outfits ready!

Friday 2nd from 5pm — Yr Hwyl, German food, steins, German beer & pretzels

Saturday 3rd from 5pm — German-style music, German food, steins, German beer & pretzels

Sunday 4th — wrapping it all up with the amazing Marc Gallagher!

Friday & Saturday’s menu: Bratwurst/Frankfurters, currywurst fries, loaded fries & smash burgers 🤤

WE ARE OPENING THURSDAYSSSS! 🙌🏼🍻

October will be our first month opening on Thursdays! We’re giving it a go, so come and start your weekends a little earlier with us and show Thursdays some love 🫶🏼

And we’ve got a VERY busy October ahead…

FRIDAY 2ND – OKTOBERFEST KICK-OFF!
We’re kicking off Oktoberfest properly! Yr Hwyl live, steins flowing, pretzels and Smash & Dash cooking up a German-style menu! 🇩🇪🍺
Lederhosen at the ready… and if you don’t dress up, we’ll be disappointed.

SATURDAY 3RD – OKTOBERFEST CONTINUES!
Round two! Smash & Dash are back with their German menu, plus steins, pretzels and all the Oktoberfest fun! 🇩🇪🍻
And yes… the lederhosen rule still applies.

SUNDAY 4TH – MARC GALLAGHER
Welcoming back the amazing Marc Gallagher for a Sunday Funday! We know so many of you missed him last time, so here’s your chance. Shout out your favourite songs and he’ll get them going on the ukulele! 🎶🙌🏼

SATURDAY 10TH – SAM FELGATE + LITTLE ITALY
Sam Felgate will be live and Little Italy will be joining us as we celebrate our not-so-baby cousin’s 21st birthday! 🥹🍕🍻

FRIDAY 16TH – JUST STEAK
The incredible Just Steak are back, rustling up some of the best steak around. If you know, you know 🤤🥩

SUNDAY 25TH – HALLOWEEN QUIZ + GREEK STEW
Our monthly quiz gets a spooky makeover 👻 with a gorgeous Greek stew being rustled up by the amazing Mezedaki. Get your teams ready!

SATURDAY 31ST – HALLOWEEN PARTYYYY!
During the day we’ll be hosting a children’s Halloween party, with games, activities and plenty for the little ones to get involved with! 🕷️🎃

Then from 6PM it’s ADULTS ONLY 🔞

🍻 And plenty of Halloween chaos!

This weekend marks 6 months since we opened up our very crooked, squeaky door to you all… 🍻❤️

And what a six months it’s been.

Most of you already know the story behind The Mill Inn and why reopening those doors meant so much to us as a family. But I don’t think any of us could have predicted what would happen once we did.

We thought we were reopening a pub. Somewhere along the way, you lot turned it into a community.

We have no TVs, barely any phone signal and no sport playing, something we were actually a little apprehensive about when we opened.

Instead, we have games of chess by the fire, people in their 20s sharing a table and a laugh with people in their 70s and 80s, and friendships forming between the most unlikely people who probably would never have crossed paths otherwise.

We’ve watched people walk through the door not knowing a soul and, a few months later, walk in knowing half the room.

And THAT is probably the thing we are most proud of.

There’s something really special about seeing different generations mixing, people actually talking to each other, putting their phones down, playing games, sharing stories and becoming friends.

In just six months you’ve supported our events, filled our garden, danced, sung, laughed, played far too many questionable games of chess and made our little pub feel like it’s never been closed.

So from all of us, thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has walked through that wonky old door, brought their friends, recommended us, shared our posts, supported our events or simply sat at the bar for a pint and a chat.

The Mill Inn might belong to our family, but the community that has grown inside it belongs to all of you.

Here’s to the first six months… and hopefully many, many more. 🍻❤️
