POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Do you ever just randomly get super excited about this hobby? Like randomly looking at your collection and thinking, wow, I’ve read some many amazing stories and have collected some of the best this medium has to offer, and the best thing is, there’s so so so much more out there that I can’t wait to read and collect.

Manga brings me so much joy, it has since I was a kid and it continues to bring me joy well into my adult life. It’s crazy to think about, i still haven’t read some of the absolute classics and even thinking about picking them up gets me super pumped. I only read a classic like yuyu haskusho recently and it was amazing.

I’ve gotten past the point of having a “normal” amount of books now, and have no intention of slowing down, I love collecting and reading. People ask me all the time, what will you do with those books when you can’t take them with you or when you die, and honestly that’s a long way off yet( hopefully ) but I’d love to have something in place where I’d open a manga section in my local library for kids to take out volumes of manga, so if anything should happen to me in the future take this as confirmation, I want my shit donated to my local library to start their own manga section 😂🙏

There are so many creators in this space that I look up to, their content is always super excited and gets me hyped to read a new series or to start picking up one. Haikyu is the most recent, one of my favourite manga YouTubers was talking about it and I thought fuck it, I’ll give it a go, I loved slam dunk. I bought it all and man I’m loving it.

Anyway I’m rambling lol love manga love reading love collecting love this community. The end. 😂

New manga shelves! This wall will be for series that have finished serialization and that I have finished buying. It’s going to take time to get it looking amazing but I’m super happy that I have a tonne more space for my books. Shoutout to my amazing wife who let me take up the biggest wall in our house in our bedroom for my manga 😂❤️

Turned 35 today, sat in a dark room, read manga and listened to sum 41…the exact same thing I did when I was a teenager 🎉👴

🔥🔥🔥1000 volumes of manga! 🔥🔥🔥

A milestone I dreamed of when I first started collecting back in 2011, I then had to sell what I had due to life circumstances but started again in 2024 with the goal of having my own manga library with 1000 volumes. The day is finally here and I’m beyond stoked, I’ve read some incredible stories and made some amazing friends here on this app. I’ve been reading manga since I was 12 years old…and I’m 35 in a few days. Here’s to the next 1000 manga volumes!

Miura is a genius. The world he’s crafted is brutal. Guts’s journey through hell is one of immense tragedy but also one of close friendships, love and the unwavering commitment to survive. This is up there with the very best this medium has to offer. It’s captivated me and had me thinking about its world long after I put the volume down. It’s traumatised me to the point of having to take a break for weeks, I needed to digest what I had read and let it settle. If you’re on the fence about reading berserk, I would highly recommend giving it a go. With caveats however, if you have certain triggers or don’t enjoy gore and realistic depictions of how far humanity can sink, I would give it a miss. This isn’t a story for everyone, it’s raw. It’s painful. It’s harsh. But if you’re like me, and enjoy seeing how shit humanity can be, you’ll love it.
