Our @dinkededition vinyl comes with a very special alternative cover. Two summers ago we were in Sweden with Hugo and Toma. There was a group effort to carve the swords and Hugo soaked fabric in fuel and attached it to the back of the blade. We went up on the rocks by the lake at sunset to take the photos. It was crazy because it was flying ant day and they were crawling all over our faces and ears and clothes. When we set the swords alight we only had a short amount of time whilst they burnt to get the shot. There are some incredible ant-induced outtakes. We are very happy to finally be sharing this image along with the new coloured vinyl. Thanks dinked by @the_new_eves

‘The Head Tree’ featuring The New Eves is out now.

In 1685 Alice Molland was the last woman
to be tried and hanged as a witch in England, strung up on a ‘Head Tree’ just outside of Exeter. Now, from
her burial place underneath an Aldi carpark in the town of Heavitree, she summons the spirits of her fallen
sisters-in-sin - Mary Trembles, Temperance Lloyd and Susannah Edwards - as well as, for some reason, the
spirit of the Bee Gees, ABBA and Marc Almond in order to tell her tale.

Ever since we heard the New Eves’ very first single we knew we had to worship wiv them somehow. They’re such a strange, real, punk-&-myth outfit and their ancient harmonies do the job. After touring with them and pursuing the aforementioned communal worship it was time for a song… written with their harmonies in mind and originally as a camp send up of the current hysteria for #aesthetic #folkhorror it turned into the most bizarre fusion and I reckon its gravitas shines through the curled lip.

Thanks to the Eves for living inside the tune, voices and strings, to Nina for bringing ‘Cad Goddeu’, an auld Welsh poem about a wandering oak that fit the end section so perfectly.

Huge gratitude also due to:

Jake Smallwood at @farmroadstudios in Brighton for recording TNE’s parts and bearing with our chaos,

Clari & Saya from @maryinthejunkyrd for adding another gorgeous layer of strings and @banjito for arranging & recording those,

@kyle__mccarthy and @rrddll for the beautiful video/visualiser projected onto a bedsheet in the middle of Sydenham Woods & to @angiefrombradford for starring as The Pagan Silhouette - watch the video now at the Lincoln Bayou,

As ever to @craigsilveymusic and @dani_rbs for wrangling our incompatible ideas into something classy and courageous and to @smabo1 for writing the groove at the actual last session…

To @maisybanks for the ever heavenly press shots

Sometimes things happen and you run out of vinyl and get sent a box of only large tshirts but it's ok because cds and massive tshirts are very in right now.
