How good do you have to be to keep finishing Top 5 in PRS Pro Series matches … and STILL not win one? Better than almost everyone who has ever played the game!

Nearly 10,000 shooters have competed in a Pro Series match, but only 478 have ever finished Top 5 — less than 5%! So this leaderboard isn’t a list of guys who couldn’t get it done. It’s a list of shooters who repeatedly performed at a world-class level and were often just a couple of impacts away from winning.

And there are some awesome breakthroughs in here.

Derrick Warren piled up 16 Top-5s before finally winning this March…and now he has 3 wins this season!

Patrick Youngs had 9 Top-5s dating back to 2021 before finally breaking through this weekend at Wisconsin Barrel Maker!

And talk about timing: four shooters who entered Wisconsin carrying active streaks on this list finished Top 5 — Youngs 1st, Ulickey 3rd, Gearing 4th, and Egyed 5th. 🔥

To get this info, I built a database covering every PRS Pro Series match and Finale going back to 2011. I pulled results from the old PRS website, Impact Scoring, PractiScore, Ultimate Ballistics, and archived match-result PDFs, then spent hundreds of hours correcting names, resolving conflicting records, confirming ranks, and reconciling everything into one consistent history of the sport.

This stat was suggested by Dan Bertocchini, which gave me an idea: What should I pull from the database next?

300.

In our sport, it’s a number only a few achieve each season. 300 is an honor, but make no mistake—it doesn’t win you a Golden Bullet. It doesn’t even win you a Black one.

What 300 does is earn you a spot in Squad 1, shooting alongside some of the greatest shooters in the world that season.

A 300 lets you control your own destiny in Arkansas.

Two of my goals for 2026 were to win a match and make Squad 1.

Done and done. ✅

Now we keep grinding, stay focused, and prepare for November. 🎯

@area419official has supported me for years and continues to make the best optic mounts, suppressors, and reloading accessories on the market.

@visionprc — The Vision Pro chassis is, by far, my favorite chassis I’ve ever run. It’s incredibly versatile and perfectly thought out.

@gcprifleco — If you’re stateside and looking for the best chassis in the game (plus an awesome custom paint job), there’s nowhere better to go.

@kelblyrifles — This year I switched to the Prometheus action, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my rifles are more accurate than ever. When you have decades of benchrest experience behind your products, it’s no surprise your actions are among the most accurate on the market.

Adaptive tuning systems — Their clamp-on tuner is a must-have if you’re trying to squeeze every last bit of accuracy out of a rifle.

@zerocompromiseoptic — The 8-40 makes spotting impacts so easy it almost feels like cheating.

@alpha_munitions — Their 6 Dasher brass has never let me down, and I don’t think it will anytime soon.

@bergerbullets — The 105 Hybrid at 2,840 fps is simply an unbeatable combination. by @the_ohio_marksman

Well, I think it’s safe to say that it’s been a productive few weeks.

Over the last few weeks, I traveled to both the 2A Farms SAC Sizzler and the Twisted Barrel Leupold Scorcher. Coming off an amazing weekend at Twisted Barrel with a rifle that is absolutely hammering, I had a good feeling heading into what has become my most consistent range.

I couldn’t have asked for a better squad at either match. It’s an amazing feeling when the whole squad works together like clockwork. To say we were locked in at the SAC Sizzler would be an understatement. Our squad managed to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, which is pretty incredible.

This was my second national two-day match win, so I can officially say I’m a multi-time winner. 😂 I couldn’t have done it without the best precision rifle components on the market.

Huge thanks to @nightforce_optics for donating a 7-35 atacr for the fastest clean on the PRS barricade this past weekend at the 2025 gap grind. I managed to pull off a clean and 42.45 seconds probably one of my best performances on the barricade ever. Huge thanks to @jeffguerry for filming it. by @the_ohio_marksman

The last few weeks have gone by in a total blur.
The first weekend, I traveled up to the Catskills, NY, and competed in the 2025 Sheepdog Showdown put on by @mikelombardi6 . It was a very fun but challenging match. Huge thanks to @swarovskioptik_outdoor for being the main sponsor of the event. I managed to get fourth place in the match.
Then, the very next weekend, I traveled to Butlerville, IN, and competed in the SAC Sizzler presented by @shortactioncustoms
Adam Leonberger and Fred Mudd knocked it out of the park with one of the smoothest-running and most straightforward matches I have shot in a long time. I had the best squad anyone could ever ask for. I was incredibly happy to finish in 2nd place, right behind my good friend Ben Gossett.
Then I high-tailed it straight from the range to Siesta Key, Florida, for a beach vacation, rounding up a pretty crazy three weeks.
Huge thanks to everyone to all the awesome companies who let me represent them.
@area419official the maverick is still the king of the hill of suppressor in my book. If you haven’t given one of their scope mounts a try you are missing out.
@visionprc there isn’t much to say about the highest end chassis in the world other then you should try one.
@gcprifleco for being the U.S. importer of the best chassis in the world.
@zerocompromiseoptic run their 8-40

It’s been a pretty busy few weeks. Two Saturdays ago, I shot an ELR match at Thunder Valley in Ohio. Then, the very next day, I hightailed it up to the amazing Geissele facility and shot my first one-day match of the year. The following weekend, I ran down to the 2025 Kahles National two-day match.
I managed to get third place at the ELR match, running my .300 Norma Mag. I took second place at the WAR one-day. Then, I finished in a five-way tie for sixth place at the Kahles match, where I blew my very first stage of the weekend—dropping three points on the PRS barricade—but managed to keep it together and only dropped nine more shots for the rest of the weekend.
Huge thanks to the companies that keep our sport going @geissele @swarovskioptik_outdoor and many more.

This was by far my favorite moment of the entire 2024 pro series finale. Them two working together to get that perfect wind call was definitely the deciding factor of the weekend to get Ben his win lol. Congrats again man one deserves it more than you.

Step 2 hit every round because it’s the tie breaker stage
