@the_otherfrequency - Warm Placids

w. @jaychen_2026

New Mix "Nocturnal Returns", which has just been broadcasted on @byyb.radio, is now archived on soundcloud! Link in the linktree in Bio! Tracklist is timestamped through the comments

Genres: Modern Classical / Ambient / Indie / Folk / Experimental

This mix is a collage of my favorite music that i listened last month. At first I want to make it indie, like the 4th and 5th songs. But Then I thought, why not make it crazier? Since this summer's heatwave is killing me lol. So I played some folk songs, some favorite cello sounds and a lot of experimental material. Turns out very interesting!

New Ambient / Folk Mix "Summer in the Wind" which has been broadcasted in @byyb.radio this afternoon is now archived! Link in bio! (linktree)
The best mix I've ever made this year!

This mix is dedicated to the summer.
Now, close your eyes and imagine this: The weather is 34 degrees and the sun is shining rigorously. Now you’re sitting near a small river outside of your house, listening to the singing of the frogs, watching the flowers and insects glow. You feel hot but your heart is cool with this everything. This feeling is exactly what I'm trying to convey through this mix.
Musically, it's bright, colorful and makes you happy. But What I want to prove in this mix is that Ambient isn't dead. It's still alive. These tracks I selected are all from the 2020s from my favorite ambient labels (you can see them on the tracklist and tags). You can hear many instruments, not only the synth, but also the voice, piano, field recordings, harp, flute, mandolin, electric guitars even bells in this mix. Ambient isn't dead. It's alive and well.

In Focus: Pianos & Guitars

1. Ani Zakareishvili – Fallin @kdema__
Peaceful, blurry piano together with some synth and vocal samples, speaking thoughts about love. I “hate” love, in my own language, it contains the entire world “honesty” inside it. The word love comes in the way of love, which makes me want to say sorry. I say sorry with black breath, black letters staining the air around me, the walls of the house, the bed, the desk. Maybe "sorry" is the closest I ever got to expressing love..

2. Sofie Birch – Bivabippabualukka @sofiebirchxix
Interesting and playful! It’s just released on @stroom.tv go check it out!

3, Joanne Robertson - Blue Car @joannemaryrobertson
Perhaps her best album. I love this.

4. doris dana – nostalgia @doris_dana
My favourite album recently. First time i listened to it. I was packing my things and prepared to leave the little room i rented for six months. I mainly stayed in that little room during the lunch break last autumn to winter because there are too many people out there in the office and I don't want to see them. I don't seem to get along with most of those people in the office because I don't belong there. Listening to this album was a very mysterious and magical experience. The piano on lado b is really impressive. It just reminded me of the all the time that i spend there. Every noon After having lunch, i just came back here to relax and maybe have some sleep and just hurry to go back to my workplace. It's just like daily routines, but painful ones. Only bitter, not sweet. There were sweet times too when the sun come out and sunny, and everything was beautiful under the sun, so i went out to see the flowers. That was in autumn, obviously. Just like some parts of lado a. This record means a lot to me. So sad that the cassette was sold out. We want a reissue! @enmossed

5. Elisabeth Klinck - Chronotopia @elisabethklinck
The most impressive song on this record is "one day". The first time i listened to it was on march 2025. I was preparing for my postgraduate entrance exam. I felt the song was really good because they are just echo of the guitars and some voice, i liked this, it's very quiet.
