You never know when you’re going to get the call.

When Kevin Scott got the opportunity to join Gov’t Mule, he had just two days to learn 40 songs. It all started with relationships he’d built years earlier, proving that every gig, every conversation, and every connection matters.

This week on a new episode of The Poptimist, Kevin shares the incredible story of how he landed one of the biggest gigs of his career, what it was like preparing under pressure, and why Warren Haynes is one of the true professionals in the business.

If you’re a musician chasing the next opportunity, this one’s for you.

In addition to being an award-winning show…
The Poptimist is now officially the King of All Cheeseburger Media.

Why?
Because not only did we drop an interview and jam session with Dan Klug, keys player for The Fundamental Sound…

🍔 A full, boots-on-the-ground report from the In-N-Out ribbon cutting
🎹 Dan Klug on keys
🎸 The Poptimist on bass
🥁 Christian Northover on drums
🎶 Funky grooves. Cheeseburgers. Jamming.

Life honestly doesn’t get better than this.

I’m currently working on an investigative report examining allegations of predatory behavior, sexual misconduct, harassment, and abuse within the Nashville music scene.

I’m looking to speak with people who have firsthand experiences involving anyone working within or around the scene. Musicians, bartenders, bookers, promoters, venue staff, managers, label representatives, producers, engineers, photographers, or others in positions of access or influence.

If you have an experience you believe should be investigated, I want to hear from you.

You may speak with me anonymously if you wish. Your identity will not be published without your permission, and requests for confidentiality will be taken seriously.

This is about documenting experiences, investigating claims, and following the evidence wherever it leads.

DM me privately. #predators #musicscene #nashvillemusicians #musiciansdaily #nashvillevenue taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @the_poptimist
