So proud to see the KWV Emporium Tasting Room revamp featured in several publications this year 🥂

This project was a true labour of love — a celebration of craftsmanship, collaboration, and the art of creating spaces that tell a story.

From the original Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy that guided my initial vision, to the way we layered materials and honoured the building’s rich legacy.

Grateful to the talented teams, who worked side by side with me and to my wonderful clients who trusted The Re-Styler vision.

I've been craving COLOUR in my outfits lately! 🧡🩷

Maybe it's the change of season, maybe it's just my mood… but one thing is certain: wearing colour makes me happy!

Today's starting point was rather simple: a beige and black striped top and a beige skirt.

Nothing wrong with it, but I wanted MORE JOY!

So out came the orange belt, my beloved Indian quilted jacket with its playful striped tigers (a little pattern conversation with my top 🐅), some fun sheer orange socks, matching flats and, of course, statement earrings!

And suddenly, the whole outfit felt so much more ME.

The restyling lesson? You don't always need new clothes to change how an outfit feels. Sometimes all it takes is one joyful colour, a little creativity and the confidence to play with what you already own.

And lately, orange is doing exactly that for me! 🧡

A new project is beginning… and this one is starting with colour. Lots of it. 🌈

There’s something I love about this early stage of an interior project — pulling fabrics together, playing with pattern, texture and unexpected colour combinations, and slowly watching the personality of a space begin to emerge.

No beige-on-beige here. 😉

These are just some of the fabrics I’m exploring for this new project, and already I can feel a story taking shape.

Who made the rules about what we’re supposed to stop wearing after 40, 50, 60…?

Sometimes “I’m too old for that” has very little to do with age.

It can be about fear of being noticed. Fear of getting it wrong. Fear of what somebody else might say.

Your style will evolve as you do — of course it will. But evolving doesn’t mean disappearing.

So I have a little challenge for you: next time you think “I’m too old for that”, replace it with “Do I actually like it?”

You might be surprised by the answer.

Before buying something new, try styling something old in a new way. ✨

This cropped gold top has been in my wardrobe for years and years... and that’s exactly the point. A piece doesn’t have to be new to make an outfit feel new.

I paired it with cropped wide-leg pink trousers and styled it three ways:

💙 Look 1: my favourite kid-mohair jersey from @luminousware_sa , blue loafers and a scarf for that little extra play with colour.

💗 Look 2: simply adding a gorgeous scarf from @maximalist.za X @styled_by_emma_christina around my waist and I absolutely adore this one!

✨ Look 3: a blazer and pink loafers for a smarter, more polished version.

Restyling is about seeing possibility in what you already own. Sometimes one small change ...a layer, a scarf, a different shoe is enough to make an old piece exciting again.

So before your next shopping trip, go back into your wardrobe and play!

A new project begins… and this one comes with more than a century of stories. ❤️

This beautiful Cape Town heritage cottage dates back to 1890 — full of character, history and those little details you simply can’t recreate.

The challenge won’t be to make it look new.

It will be to uncover what makes it special, preserve its soul, and gently bring it into the way we live today.

Old and new.
Heritage with personality.
And hopefully a few unexpected treasures along the way. ✨

How much of your wardrobe and your joy in getting dressed have you put on hold while waiting for your body to change?

This is something I hear so often from the women I work with.

The clothes that don’t fit stay in the wardrobe as a reminder of a previous body. The beautiful pieces are saved for “when I’ve lost a few kilos”. And meanwhile, getting dressed becomes something to endure rather than enjoy.

What if we stopped waiting?

But perhaps writing a new chapter doesn’t always mean doing more.

Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do in midlife is give ourselves permission to slow down.

Permission to rest without feeling guilty ( still WIP for me 😁)

To stop measuring our worth by how much we achieve.

To listen to our bodies instead of constantly pushing them.

To have compassion for the woman we have become — shaped by everything she has lived, loved, lost, learnt and overcome.

And permission to embrace where we are right now, rather than constantly trying to become a younger, better, more productive version of ourselves.

Maybe the next chapter isn't about reinventing yourself at all.

Maybe it's about meeting yourself where you are, with a little more kindness.

And asking: What do I need now? What would feel good now? What can I let go of?

There is courage in moving forward.

But there is courage in slowing down, too. ❤

Interior photography is a fantastic way to be inspired by others’ creativity. Diverse colours, special awareness, and choice of furniture always make for a fun day creating the visuals, especially when collaborating with such talented interior designers. This shoot was commissioned for a client wanting to promote their living space on the various platforms that offer self-catering accommodation. SALE. 30% off. 50% off. 👀

And suddenly something we weren’t even looking for becomes VERY tempting.

I love a bargain as much as anyone, but I’ve learned to ask myself one simple question:

🤔 “Would I still want this if it wasn’t on sale?”

Because a bargain is only a bargain if you’re actually going to wear it.

If you’re buying something because you love it, it feels like YOU, it works with what you already own AND it happens to be on sale , fabulous! 🙌

But if the discount is what’s convincing you to buy it…
Are you buying the piece or are you buying the bargain?
And that brings us to Part 5 of my Shopping Tips series.
