"Those who drink from the fountain of living waters
shall leave…
leave sin and flesh behind,
and cling to their Beloved,
their eternal Bridegroom."

It's my birthday again and what better way to celebrate it than to speak God's mind?

I almost gave up on this piece because I was swamped with work and activities but on Monday, I woke up with a turbulence in my heart. On Tuesday, I travelled to Abeokuta to record and shoot - one of the most spontaneous decisions I've ever made.

Please listen with an open heart, God is speaking.

PS: I have no rights to some of the clips in this video. The background music... however I must commend my Producer for making magic from it, the melody he added - Heavenly @_joydoncome

@adept_visuals_ always eats, and he did magic with the video shoot and editing. I can't believe a very unplanned shoot turned out this beautiful. Thank you for always, brother.

And to my best friend @faithanimashaun , who read this piece before anyone else. Thank you for dispelling the fear that surrounded me at the time, for praying for me, with me and over this piece. I love you always.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. 𝑭𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔/𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒐🥹❤️.

I’d like to dedicate this piece to the biggest dreamers I know: my brother, Surprise, and my cousin, 'Bro Deji' (Oloba 1).

You know how they say, "If your dreams don't scare you, you haven’t even started dreaming"? I believe it's true. So, I put this piece together to encourage every dreamer out there. Your imagination will soon become your reality—keep dreaming. 💫❤️

In April 2021, I completed a course on 'Storytelling for Social Change' from the University of Michigan. I’ve always known I loved storytelling, and I believe I’m one of the best storytellers God created. So, I committed to polishing this gold God gave me.

In October 2023, I graduated from the prestigious @02academylagos as the best graduating copywriter. Huge thanks to my tutor, @jitanwrites and my amazing coursemates @dupe_jayeola, @phenomenalteddy, Tosin, @sabifitnesscoach, Adeola, Dabira, @adedolapoeb, and so many more.

Earlier this month, I graduated from @delyorkcreativeacademy as a certified screenwriter—one of my biggest dreams come true. I’ve always loved film. In fact, my final year project was about film. I had the opportunity to interview @ruthkadiri (thanks to my cousin), Francis Onwochei, Cinemapointer (shoutout to Creative Nerd, one of my biggest inspirations—man is a bundle of talent 🥹❤️), @crea8ivenerd , Dr. Shaibu @igalaman , the DG of NFVCB (God knows I love this man for all the knowledge he poured into us during our UNILAG lectures), and Barnabas Emordi.

Talking to @barnyee gave me a broader perspective on Nollywood. I remember being so scared to call him because, unlike the others I interviewed, I had no connection with him 😂. But from the first "hello," he sounded more like a big brother. That interview ended up being my favorite—we actually had a real conversation. These moments pushed me to chase my dreams in the film industry.

The remaining part of this long caption is in the comment section 😂.

Some time last week, I realized that what I wanted for my birthday this year was to bless lives. I was in the bathroom when "to the unknown God that Paul spoke of" popped up in my head, I immediately got out of the bathroom to record that bit and I ended up recording for almost two minutes. Later that day or the next, I completed the spoken word piece and reached out to my dad.

For this project we have spent thousands of naira and I'm still in awe as to how God provided. At some point I got tired but I told myself I wasn't going to give up.

I went to the studio, recorded the spoken word piece and the original background music and shot the video afterwards. Every line of the spoken word piece and the background music was God inspired. Maybe later, I'll share the story of how I got the background music from Abba.

This piece was designed to bless your heart. Focus on the audio, my face is not as important as the message ❤️.

One thing my best friend loves to do is journal, and somehow being friends with her has made me understand the importance of journaling. Guess who picked up her journal immediately she got home? Yup, @faithanimashaun so it's safe to say this friendship us positively affecting me 😂❤️.

Couldn't sleep at midnight so I decided to go back to content creation. Will be back in full force when I get a better camera ❤️

All your favourite brands will be there.

Walking through the exhibition hall cos my duty post is wherever I'm sent (and Microsoft word app in my laptop, of course) 😂❤️

At the Beauty Party.

Honestly, I don't know why I bother going to parties because I can't stand the noise.

I sat in the greenroom throughout the stuff and left early. 🤧

The Beauty Party is one for the books, if you ever get invited, grab the opportunity. The connections in that hall? Networking... the list is endless.

The one time I stepped into the hall and Mama Africa was about to perform. Guess who stepped out immediately after?

Greenroom Duties.

When I'm not busy sorting out stuff, I'm seating in the greenroom. Everyone I worked with was a delight – every single coordinator, glad to have met the team. ❤️

Forever in love with Mrs. Nneka and Miss Tomiwa 😍

Mirror selfie 🤳

A little rant 😂

Another walking video.
Last year, I didn't get videos or pictures. This year, I promised to take some – no matter how random it was.

With my last year babyyyy 🥹❤️.
Will probably replicate this with this year's magazine.

The magazine eats every single year. I always try to get my hands on one. by @the_scrolll

Honestly, you have no choice but to attend. 😂

All the booths looked incredible. The designs were so intentional! I’ll never forget how massive and beautiful the @25pskynn setup was – @psalmuel.josephs absolutely ate with that booth. Bruhhh, the level of intentionality, ehn!

I even got a free hairstyling session after picking up some @ruutos products.

And @amarihaircare @jagabeauty @curlsandtresses__ and @abynaturals ? Unforgettable. Natural hair girlie's (and guys 🤪) should definitely look out for them this year for amazing discounted hair and body solutions. Oh, and @theshinecartel booth was literally built for the girly girls – so cuteeee!

A massive thank you to @beatrice_eneh and @lindaedozien for this initiative. It is literally the Oscars of the beauty industry, but with the added bonus – you get to market your own products.

7 gbosas to my direct manager, @nykylicious_nyky Working under her as the official Copywriter and Assistant Guest & Speaker Management Coordinator (or at least, that’s what I’m calling it 😂) was an amazing experience.

Still haven't gotten your tickets? Click the link in @beautyinthemotherland bio to get yours for FREE.

P.S: I try to document projects I've worked on here. I realized I didn't share my BITML 25 journey, so what better way to share than to invite you to the next one. My brother helped elevate these carousels and I'm in love with them 😂

What is Mic Drop to me? Family. Mic Drop is family. 💛

From looking forward to seeing @gemjuliii , @karisthequeen , @mercy__nelson , @nzuberobert , and @__dewunmi @the.kendave every Mic Drop Day, to working with my faves @theonlymoferewaju , @iamglobalsam , and @eniola.esther__ — pure bliss! And @esuamusic will probably never forget my name with the way I was always in her DMs 😂

Was it an easy ride? NO! Would I do it again? YES!

A huge shoutout to @ibquake ... this is such an amazing initiative. 👏🏾

My favorite contestants, both on and backstage, would easily be @psalmsnproverbs , @jameseneojile , @rahma_isiaq , @neji_irregular , @lulu_dainty , and @vectratheworder . In fact, almost all of them! One thing I love to see is beautiful bonds, and they had exactly that. They looked out for each other and supported one another. As someone who is very big on meaningful friendships, this was honestly one of my Mic Drop highlights. Check them out and follow them.

To my favorite volunteers: @realtzician , @henshaw_adib , @favouramubode , Theglobalanu, Olarotimi, and @theinspiredstoryteller — you guys are rockstars!

Greenroom interactions I loved the most? Definitely @thekotrell , @lensesthegrapher , @mikeafolarin and his friend (apologies, I don't know your name 🥹🙏) – who's our opp by the way 🤣. I'm not much of a talker and usually prefer to keep to myself, but I honestly felt so at ease chatting with them. High-key one of the reasons I didn't take any pictures... besides the fact that I was too busy working. But truly, every single green room guest was amazing.

Last year, I worked on Beauty In the Motherland as a Content Strategist, Copywriter, and Assistant Guest/Speaker Management Coordinator. This year, it was Mic Drop. Let's see what next year has in store for us, shall we? 🔥

Signing out,
Social Media Manager, Volunteer Manager, Welfare Manager, and Copywriter for Mic Drop 1.0. @officialmicdroplive 🎤✨
