EXCITING NEWS! Friends, I am pleased to share that I have been appointed to the 100th class of Guggenheim Fellows. Chosen through a rigorous application and peer review process from a pool of nearly 3,500 applicants, the Class of 2025 Guggenheim Fellows was tapped based on both prior career achievement and exceptional promise. As established in 1925 by founder Senator Simon Guggenheim, each Fellow receives a monetary stipend to pursue independent work at the highest level under “the freest possible conditions.” The 100th class of Fellows is part of the Guggenheim Foundation’s yearlong celebration marking a century of transformative impact on American intellectual and cultural life: “At a time when intellectual life is under attack, the Guggenheim Fellowship celebrates a century of support for the lives and work of visionary scientists, scholars, writers, and artists,” said Edward Hirsch, award-winning poet and President of the Guggenheim Foundation. “We believe that these creative thinkers can take on the challenges we all face today and guide our society towards a better and more hopeful future.” I’m elated to have my work and career path acknowledged through this Fellowship, and deeply honoured to join the exceptional Fellows this year and from the past century. I look forward to sharing more about my research in the next year. For now, please find the press release including a list of the 2025 Fellows here: https://www.gf.org/ Photo by Francesca Chudnoff #guggfellows2025 by @the_small_tall

Meet Anisa Tejpar, the Intimacy Professional working on Heaven 💫 This is the 20th anniversary of Heaven by choreographer Sasha Ivanochko — it opens tonight and runs until October 3rd. The gasp of breath, the startling slap of flesh on flesh, the stamp of foot to floor—these are the sounds of vulnerability and power that score Heaven. Rooted in the idea of heaven as a site of union, the choreography invites audiences into an intimate encounter with the body—its limits, its desires, its failures, and its need for connection—offering a viewing experience that is direct, unmediated, and deeply human. #Heaven #Dance #Toronto by @the_small_tall
