Over the past four months, I’ve been flip flopping between ‘what the actual f*ck?!´ and ‘things could always be worse’

I thought 2026 would be the year I would rewrite my Olympic story. A ruptured ACL, torn MCL, and a couple of bung menisci days before the opening ceremony felt like a particularly cruel blow.

I don’t know if I’ll ever understand why the universe dealt me this hand. But, even without the shiny necklace, even through all the pain, I’m grateful for this sport, the people in it, and the journey so far ✌️

Unfortunate news as we prepare for the start of the Aerials competition tomorrow. One of the favourites to contend for medals at Milano Cortina 2026, Laura Peel, will miss the Olympic Winter Games after sustaining a knee injury in training prior to the Games. We wish Laura a swift and full recovery. She will be deeply missed 🫶

Absolutely heartbroken to say I will not be competing at the 2026 Olympics. Two weeks ago, I took a hit in training and ruptured my ACL, along with a couple of other things.
I have given absolutely everything to keep this Olympic dream alive, but ultimately my knee is not stable enough to fall 15m from the sky, no matter how much my heart wants it.
Coming into these Games, I was feeling calm and ready knowing that there was nothing more I could have done to prepare for this moment. But, it is not to be.
I’m very grateful for the medical and support teams who have backed me in exploring every option, even if they thought my optimism was bordering on delusion.
Thankyou to everyone who has reached out with such kind words, and those who stand out in the cold with me as I weather this storm. Today, this sport feels cruel, but the people it has brought into my life will always mean more than any medal ever could (both would have been nice though 💔). taken in Livigno Ski Area, Italy by @the_snowgi

This one goes out to our fearless women on tour 🙌
The level of women’s aerial skiing this season has reached new heights. We’ve never seen so many triple jumps, and what unfolded today was truly remarkable. For the first time in history, the entire podium featured women successfully landing full-full-fulls. Let’s hear it one more time for our champions Laura Peel, Winter Vinecki and Xu Mengtao 👏
