📌 Another quick walk through for progress

Medical fuckery and brain gremlins aplenty this month so there's been a lot of working it out at the allotment. I am LOVING watching the plants growing and the wildlife coming back at the mo 🐝🦋🐞🪲🪱🐛 🌼

🌱 Planted: Herb/ tea garden

🎃 Currently growing: potato, onion, garlic, beetroot, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, peas, beans, courgette, squash, pumpkin, tomato, aubergine, pepper, chilli, gooseberry, blackcurrant, rhubarb, tayberry, raspberry, apple, strawberry

🌻Adding more flowers & plants for wildlife all over the plot

🪚 Deadhedge, raised beds

Inspired by the wildflower seed shaker I got from @sparkingcommunity I've been mixing up some bought and saved seed to scatter at the allotment 💚

What do you include in your wildflower/ edible flower mixes? 🐝🦋🐞🌻

It's still very wet down at the plot so I used up the last of the harvested squash/ pumpkin today. This made a soup and filled three big freezer bags. So many seeds! 🎃🎃🎃

@mymonthontheplot day 2: Garden goals

Increasing wildlife / biodiversity 💚🐝🐸🦋🪱

Making the pond & planter area behind the shed was my space away from a lot of rough health stuff last year. Sitting with a brew and watching the birds, insects (and frogs!) that moved in was my favorite thing to do, so more slow gardening and wildlife projects this year.

Bug snugs, dead hedges, plants for the pollinators, bird houses and feeders, leaving 'weeds' and 'messy' areas...

How are you making your plot/ garden more wildlife friendly this year?

I'm new to saving seeds and missed collecting a lot in Autumn so these are an experiment. They look dry and have survived the frost and wet weather so let's see what happens. Open to any seed saving tips and advice 💚

Pond progress update : 6 months ago I cleared out an area behind the shed to try and encourage more wildlife to my plot. The pond is the bottom of an old guinea pig cage, there's a dead hedge fence and hibernaculum under those nasturtiums that have gone wild 💚 The majority of wood, stone and plants came from all over the allotment except for some pond plants, shrubs and flowers and I've just let it be for the past 3 months 🐸

The allotment is looking WILD at the mo after being left to it (mostly) 😍 My partner and plot neighbours have been brilliant over the last few months so nothing has gone to waste (so may tomatoes @stevedenton5 😂) Can't wait to get up there this weekend for a proper sit in the secret garden though. See what wildlife has moved in.
