Thinking of all the upcoming adventures. (So, I got a 3D printer)Nowadays I’m mostly collecting TVC figures, but the very reason I bought this P1P printer was because of a YouTube video by @landspeederlukeThe minute I saw his video of the Millennium Falcon, I was SOLD. I knew I had to get a 3D printer. It seemed daunting at first, but it’s actually a lot easier than I anticipated (mainly because the files that LL produces are so good) This was quite a big first project- but, go big or go home, right? I wanted to print all of these parts of the Falcon in 1/12 scale (even though my black series collection is lacking) I figured if I can figure out how to do it in 1/12 scale, that 1/18 would be a lot easier moving forward. (And yes, if you’re using LL’s files, you can just rescale them to 66% for TVC) I’ll make a reel with more detail about the process for anyone who’s interested, but, needless to say, I’m having an absolute blast printing these files and making shelf displays. #starwars #hansolo #3dprinting #milleniumfalcon by @the_whaler_

#punisher #marvel #toyphotography #frankcastle #art Shot 1 is the final edited shot, which consists of iPhone edits within Snapseed to give it a more punchy vibe and mood. Other than that, I always try to get everything right in camera as referenced from the 2nd shot (which is straight from the camera) Half of the fun of what we do is actually PLAYING with the toys, the lighting, the atmosphere, etc. I’ll keep banging that anti-AI drum because I feel if you use it, you’re doing yourself a disservice. Anyway, this super simple setup was achieved on my kitchen countertop, with 2 lights, 3d printed rooftop pieces, other 3d printed stuff I made, and atmosphere aerosol. Simple. Effective. And most importantly— REAL by @the_whaler_

Happy Mother’s Day to my wife. We have 5 kids! Crazy when you write it out like that. One of them is now an adult and we have a few teenagers and little ones still. She is the best mom to my children and they are all spoiled as can be by her. She keeps the homefront all in one piece when I’m busy at work and is the anchor to our home. Obligatory “I-shot-this-completely-normal-and-flipped-it-in-post” Spider-Man shot. Trying to post more often on here and force myself to make time for the hobby. Being a busy dad of 5, husband and working 40-60 hours a week doesn’t leave too much time to shoot toys, and when I do, I see all of this AI stuff and it kills my motivation. Anyone miss Diamond Select toys @collectdst ? I have quite a few figures that they sent me over the years and I’m pretty bummed that they went under. There is no doubt that their diorama pieces they added with most every figure were such an integral part of early toy photography.
