This morning I did not have it in me.

I’m leading a department through a new strategic plan. Leading a family that is growing. Parenting a newborn. Loving and leading my beautiful wife. Being a son to my loving mother. Building an album, a podcast, and a foundation to serve God.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, still trying to take care of this body.

I almost didn’t show up this morning. But Galatians 6:9 would not leave me alone:

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

And it made me think about seasons. About how easy it is to grow weary when you are carrying so much, sowing so much, becoming so much, and still not fully seeing the harvest.

God told Adam to “be fruitful and multiply.”

But that word “and” is the Hebrew vav. And vav is more than just “and.” It is a conjunction that can carry different meanings depending on the season and the sentence. Sometimes it means and. Sometimes it means then. Sometimes it means so.

In this season of my life, I do not hear God saying, “Be fruitful and multiply” at the same time.

I hear Him saying: be fruitful, then multiply.

First let Me make you fruitful. First let Me grow you. First let Me build your character, your discipline, your faith, your consistency. First let Me produce something in you before I produce something through you.

Because if I multiply before I am fruitful, I might multiply exhaustion. I might multiply insecurity. I might multiply the wrong things.

But if I allow God to make me fruitful first, then what gets multiplied is purpose. Peace. Legacy. Faith. Calling.

Maybe that is why this season feels so heavy. Because God is making us fruitful before He multiplies what He promised.

So if you are tired, if you are weary, if you feel like you have been sowing and serving and sacrificing without seeing the fruit yet, do not quit.

Galatians 6:9 is still true.

Do not grow weary in the season of sowing and becoming fruitful, because due season is coming. And when it does, what God multiplies will be worth every ounce of perseverance. by @the_will.of.god_
