Finally, after nearly four years in the making, the moment has arrived to share my new album, APHANTAZIA. It is a bittersweet release—quiet but necessary. The album grew slowly, piece by piece, until it became a collection of episodes forming a larger story. It moves across genres, though its underlying pulse is rooted in rock 📍
-
Creating it meant sitting with fragments—sounds, memories, unfinished thoughts, emotions—and letting them unfold at their own pace. Nothing was rushed. Over time, the songs began to speak to each other and reveal the world the album now carries 🛑
-
Grateful to @theaaronrubin for co-production and mixing the entire piece in such a masterful way, to @ilanrubin for his lethal drum performance on the title track, to @maorappelbaummastering Appelbaum for bringing the final shape through mastering, and to @dimadrjuchin for creating an outer-world album cover 🙏
-
APHANTAZIA is yours now (link in bio)—enter it however you choose and enjoy 💛

Out today @wavves new album “Spun”. This album was an absolute labor of love. Nathan added me on here and I replied to him “Let’s make an album” and he said “OK”. Met up at @jamescoffeeco is little Italy to discuss the direction of the album. Big, an Ode to the 90’s, still Wavves and my addition was every song should be undeniable. Coincidently for me he had already tracked “Goner” and “Way Down” with @travisbarker. The two of us made this album in my studio in my parents garage which was funny because his first albums were made in his parents garage. We would go 1 song at a time, part by part, write parts that we felt the song lacked and nailed down the arrangement. I’d then program the drums, Nathan would lay down the rhythm guitars, then I would do the bass, followed by Nate’s vocals, and concluding with the both of us fucking around with other guitar parts and others stuff. Once we had all the songs done, we flew out to El Paso to record drums and some misc stuff at @sonicranch with @ross_traver. About 4 days and 5273856383625 beers later, we were done. I mixed it, @adam_hawkins_ mixed Travis’ tracks and @townsendmastering mastered the whole thing. Thank you Nathan for trusting me with this album and accepting my input/output. This is a very special album me getting the chance to record, write, play bass and guitar, and mix not to mention take inspiration from music we grew up with like nirvana, weezer, superdrag, pixies, Beatles, beach boys, and a ginormous swath of punk. I hope you all enjoy this gem. Happy to answer any questions. taken in TJ Oyster Bar - Bonita by @theaaronrubin

Out today is the first new @wavves song “So Long” from the upcoming album we’ve been working on for the past year. This album is GREAT and has been an absolute passion project. Working with Nathan has been an absolute pleasure and musically we just clicked. We set out to make an album that sounded huge and had undeniably well written songs. I think we nailed it and hope you do too. This is just the tip of the ice berg. Happy to answer any production questions. More than anything, stream it, enjoy it, share it, and if you are of age, have an excellent Cold Beer Friday. #CBF by @theaaronrubin
