A close friend asked me to sing at her dad’s memorial service today. Something I’ve never been asked to do

I felt a responsibility to make sure that I did him justice and at the same time I felt honored to be able to help celebrate his life

It’s always hard to know how to be there for your friends when they lose a loved one so I was grateful to have this chance to show up for my friend and her family

It was a beautiful service honoring the beautiful life of a man who put his heart and soul into being the best dad he could be

I walked away inspired to be an be an even better dad myself and so cognizant of how much it’s the little things that really matter in the end

Thank you for letting me a part of today @jaaaaden. I love you and @quignition very much

And i’ll definitely be leaving Copper and Bailey lots of dad voicemails for as long as I live and thinking of your dad whenever I do 🫶 by @theabsentee

This one’s going away for a four-week summer camp

I know she’ll be back in no time but I can’t help feeling like this is the real marker of her no longer being a little kid 🥹

They say you blink and they grow up. They say time flies. They say a lotta cliche shit but god damn if it isn’t all too true

Either way, it’s like I always tell you, kid… I love you and there isn’t a single thing you could possibly ever do to change that 😘

Gonna miss having my best friend around for a minute but I’m so proud of you and so excited for you to get out there and start putting your mark on the world

And if you see me around over the next month or so and it looks like I‘ve been crying… it’s because I definitely was ✌️ by @theabsentee
