2 weeks ago, I was at @funkstationmelb & @sonderground battle comp event to not only support, but to get down and compete.

And as some of you know, surgery for an ACL reconstruction is still something that’s in consideration. Generally when I’m gettin down I would wear a brace. However this time, I felt it was time to push further and try without.

Reconnection in time. @chiamelaine

Every time I’m back in Malaysia, we find ourselves reconnecting. This time we wanted to dance so we put on our choreo heads to get that hot 32! And jammed!

Me and Elaine go back to 2011-2012 since I started this dance thing in Malaysia. We always been on it with growth and bein a student at it. Til today we remain the same.. Im glad we was able to do this, in the time that we had.. really this was some 6 in the morning, my girl was runnin on no sleep type of situation… that’s the love!!! On June 21st 2025, dancers from all over traveled to Melbourne, Australia to attend @funkstationmelb Everybody was there to compete, learn, and dance with @tonygogo_anthony himself. As Tony is based in Japan, he was able to share his story from his youth in Texas to dancing with his friends, The Lockers, in California. Eventually, being on one of the most influential shows in the USA, Soul Train. 🕺

This is a historical moment of the street dance scene in Australia as dancers/lockers/funk stylers out here were not only able to meet and learn from Tony Gogo, but hear of his stories of a time that we all had missed.. 👏

Shoutout to @kam.by17 and @345_syc for having me get to they dope event as I wasn’t sure whether I could have made it at the time due to personal reasons. You already know how much it meant to me.. 🙏

I really enjoyed shooting and editing this video as if you weren’t there. Tony’s presence is clearly seen and felt throughout the workshop. In April 2025, I had a complete tear in my ACL of the left knee. Instead of getting surgery where doctors have advised, I went back to @olympia.athletics my physiotherapist @mavvv.reyes who I’ve gotten closer to in the past year and it hasn’t been the same since..

I’ve been put mentally and physically on track to get back. After a couple months with my trainer @nellkarpiesiuk and myotherapist Kaori, I’ve been back training in the gym, teaching foundational classes, and dancing at events.��Apart from having my baby girl, this was one of the most memorable moments in the past year that continues to tell itself.. In the mean time in between time, the work continues to be put to “get up to get down!” by @theadamtan

Dancer’s Series : A Journey with Mr Tan Man
6 week course with weekly 1.5hr classes aimed to evoke the dancer’s mind, body, and soul. Building foundation with styles of North American street dances like Popping, Locking, House, and Hip Hop while challenging the mind and body with fusion-choreography. With the sounds of funk & soul, hip hop r&b, and house, we will explore the language and characteristics of a “dancer”. Although this is a beginner’s level course, “dancers” & “non-dancers” from all levels and walks of life can get involved and experience this journey to dance.

[NEW LOCATION] Introducing our Hip Hop teacher at Arndell Park, Adam! @theadamtan

Inspired by the movement of Hip Hop at an early age, Adam has since immersed himself in dance. He has competed with Australia’s Hip Hop Champions, The Collektive, in 2012 and has danced for artists like Mizz Nina, Reshmonu, Jay Park, and other big artists in Asia.
Today, Adam continues his career teaching classes around the world.
