Opening your eyes at dawn
The warmth of an old friendship covers us,
How fun it is that we started at the same time,
A practice that takes years to master.
Delusional enough, to think we can be friend
With this new kind of mountain.

A new world opens
After exploring all the continents
Here we are discovering new oceans

And what we would learn here
Will go way further than just how to read the waves

A meditation in motion
A nature communion
An adrenaline addiction

And this overwhelming feeling of tininess
That will forever humble all of our crossteps

We would look at those videos one day and say,
Our only concern was to catch more waves.

Thank you Sanur for your beauty

Is it all for the gram ?

Don’t get me wrong, this is my job.
But the phrase “people are travelling just for the gram” surprises me.

In Asia you feel it more than in Europe I guess. Is it because they assume it and don’t give a fuck about what other people think when they are taking pictures of them ?
Is it my own shame that I see when I see a phone posted on a stick ?

Do we all secretely wish we were liked for our content ?
What is the gram saying about us ?
Are we all addicted about what others think about our lives ?
Are we trying to prove ourselves that we LIVE and not just survive ?

And in the same time, good content is always orchestrated.
It’s not just street style photos on a 35mm.
It’s a Lightroom grain filter.
It’s art as a practice.
It’s waiting for a good lighting so the shoot can look amazing.

In Europe we hide content.
We don’t film too long, we shame the influenceurs, we juge the people doing « too much on the street »
I don’t think criticising is better than putting a phone stick on the corner of the table to film your sunset diner.

We love seeing the content but we hate the process.
Isn’t it funny ?
It does tell a lot about our culture.
You like the content of a stranger who’s got a million followers, but you won’t put a like on someone trying to make content their job because it’s « ambarassing ».

What about we stop jugging people that are just having fun playing with their surf videos ?
The « tik tok surfers » ?
Because we acknowledge that the only people « worth being filmed » are the one sponsored ?

We love the outcome, but we hate the process.

Well, I propose we start enjoying the process of being a messy beginner.
I do that everyday with my 10000 passions.
It’s exhausting, and my energy is divided in a lot of different areas.
But it helps me knowing I could be anyone tomorrow if I chose to pour all my energy into it.
And man oh man what a luck to have the chance to begin again anytime any day.

I can be everything in the world.
I just can’t decide what.
Maybe this decade is meant for telling me which character I should choose.
While being them all at once.

There is something about the real travellers.

I wouldn’t say that booking a hotel in Thailand for 2 weeks is not travelling but…….. a little 😉
Again, not judging, I’m taking the plane as well to discover places and I am definitely part of the problem.

But men oh men. There is something about people who don’t live to work but work to live. There’s something deeply wild, poetic and true about their existence.
That celebrates something else than rings and babies (which I also love to celebrate don’t get me wrong)

And I’m talking about the ones that are not struggling with their lifestyle.
But deeply love the outdoor.
Profoundly enjoy spending time in nature.
Read the ocean like a book.
Fall in the grass with their bikes.
And don’t do it for the socials.
But really as an everyday practice.

I found them in BK.
It’s probably the best balance I’ve found lately between bare foot mornings and digital connection.

Of course they have their down as well.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows.
And it’s not for everyone.

But it feels good to live something so simple and obvious that it connects people with a true smile in the water. Cheering each other up on every waves.

Bk, there’s something special about you.
I wish you would stay the same forever, but I know the destiny of your hidden gem.
We might be the last one experiencing it this way, and I cherish it very close to my heart.

3rd episode with this incredible woman.
I feel like photos are amazing, but anchoring my travel with a podcast is even deeper.
I love creating.
I just have this crazy thirst on life and discovering everything, testing everything.
I see life as an exploration. Not as a career. Not as boxes to tick.
