Day 3 of talking content challenge

Running has taught me more about myself than I ever expected it to

Because when you become disciplined in one area of your life, it doesn’t stay there

It changes the way you see yourself

Long-distance running especially taught me what I’m capable of

Running 42km
Completing a full marathon
Running multiple half marathons
Continuing when every part of me was telling me to stop

There are moments during a long run where your mind will convince you that you can’t keep going

That you’ve reached your limit

That the discomfort is too much

But then you keep moving

One foot in front of the other

And eventually, the moment you thought you couldn’t survive passes

Because everything is impermanent

The pain passes
The exhaustion passes
The difficult kilometre passes

And when you finally reach the finish line, you realise something

Your mind told you to stop long before your body actually needed to

You were capable of so much more than you believed

And that lesson filters into everything

Business
Money
Relationships
The goals you’re chasing
The life you’re creating

You stop looking at how uncomfortable something feels right now and start focusing on where you’re going

You learn to keep moving when progress feels slow

You learn that discomfort doesn’t always mean stop

Sometimes it simply means keep going

If you want to build discipline, self-trust and the ability to persevere when things get hard, I genuinely recommend long-distance running

Because once you’ve proved to yourself that you can keep going when your mind is screaming at you to stop, you start questioning every other limit you’ve placed on yourself
