NEW MAP LAUNCH 🗺️ Tea hills of Japan 🗾 and southern Korea. The map features over 150 famous tea 🏔️ producing areas and lists some 70 famous teas 🍵 that you can collect and cross off. The map also shows different ceramics styles.

This map has a similar visual style as my China tea map, and they work very well together.

NEW ATLAS 🗺️ this one had me rinse every library and antique bookstore I came across to gather books and old maps. It was pure joy to get to know the whole world very intimately. 🐪🐫🦙🐎

⌚ The map is set in the Victorian era, and specifically in 1860. It's a time when old "medieval" routes meet new global communications. When steam lived side-by-side with sailing ships and camel caravans. ⛵ A time when free trade opens up the world to individual social mobility and a world turning away from mercantilism.

I look forward to sharing the hundreds of stories that are found in this map and to explain the geographic logic behind each trade routes!

FREE Map! 🗺️ When I was a lot younger, I dedicated 4 years of my life to make this map. The research and visuals took every free moment of my time to get right. The mountains are all manually sketched and I dreamed in squiggles for many months. ✍️

⌛Looking back, it's my least refined map - but it gained a lot of attention (>1 million views!). And that's why I make it freely available to anyone who wants it as a PDF.
