When passionate aviators and industry leaders come together, magic happens ✨

#TheAirLeague's Young Aviators Networking Night in our new semi-structured format was a resounding success, bringing together driven young aviators and leading industry representatives for meaningful conversations, shared insights, and real connection.

We’re so proud to have created a space where young voices could be heard, and where industry could listen. The talent, drive, and vision in the room were truly inspiring.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, @saxonair_, @pooleysflightequipment, and @bombardier_jets, for making this event possible, and to the @uniwestlondon for hosting us.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our brilliant speakers, Mike Irving (@2excel_group), Callum Fairhead (Bombardier), and Will Wright (The Honourable Company of Air Pilots), for sharing their insights and inspiring the next generation.

And a big thank you to our fantastic exhibitors, who brought expertise and opportunities to the room, your presence made a huge impact.

And last but not least, to our incredible volunteers and every attendee who brought energy, curiosity, and ideas: thank you for making this night something very special. The future of aviation is in good hands.

Certificates were presented by Trustee, Paul Everitt, followed by a keynote address from Mark Howarth, Head of Pilot Management at TUI.

We were honoured to be joined by many of the individuals and organisations who make our scholarships possible, including our main sponsor, @BristowGroup_Inc. A huge thank you to everyone who has been involved.

Congratulations to all our 2025 Scholars! We can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next 🛫

As you work towards the next steps in your aviation journey, it's easy to focus on the next exam, qualification, flight hour or career opportunity. But looking after your health and wellbeing is just as important as developing your skills and experience.

Today (10 October) marks World Mental Health Day, but the importance of looking after your mental health and wellbeing extends far beyond a single day. It's something that matters every single day.

In our latest blog, we explore burnout, recognising when you or others may be struggling, and practical ways to support your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing while building a career in aviation 👉 News and Insights link in bio.

Where could a gliding bursary take you? 🛩️

For Fred Lomax, it helped turn ambition into achievement.

After using his Air League Gliding Bursary to build valuable cross-country flying experience with PNGC, Fred went on to attend the Junior Nationals Two-Seater Training Week, gaining invaluable experience that accelerated his development as a pilot.

The result? Fred has now successfully passed his Sailplane Pilot Licence (SPL) General Skills Test, earning his SPL licence. His assessor was Jordan Bridge, one of #TheAirLeague's scholarship interviewers, making this a special full-circle moment and a wonderful milestone in Fred's aviation journey.

Fred says the bursary played an important role in his development as a pilot, helping him access experiences and training opportunities that supported his progression and success.

Stories like Fred's show how the right opportunity, support and determination can help aspiring aviators take the next step towards their goals.

Congratulations, Fred. We can't wait to see where your flying journey takes you next 🎉

Inspired by Fred's journey? Find out more about our Gliding Scholarships, which open later this year, and discover how The Air League could help you achieve your own aviation ambitions 👉Scholarships and Bursaries link in bio.
