上半年結束在一個起點

在這稍微遠離寫曲的半年多裡，除了討生活之外，有了餘裕好好照顧身體和持續的看書，並讓一些埋藏在心底深處的構想能夠逐漸浮現，於是The Scent of Time 這個系列音樂會終於在六月順利舉辦。
對於記憶、時間、音樂和嗅覺的關聯性一直充滿好奇和幻想，似乎有點迷幻又點真實，而嗅覺記憶極度個人化的特質更是讓這一切難以用一個扁平的標籤來解釋，但我遇到一群充滿好奇心和願意一起探索的合作對象們，經過幾個月的反覆琢磨，讓這個結合音樂與嗅覺體驗的音樂會在充滿美感的藝廊舉行。
其中的困難挫折似乎已成為在紐約打滾的家常便飯，常常以為在紐約趨於零的社交頻率之下的我很孤獨，但更多時候是感謝和驚訝原來身邊有一群願意支持和參與新發想的大家，非常謝謝參與這場活動的你們，凡事起頭難真是老生常談中最實在之一沒有，但已經開始期待七月活動的樣貌和各種可能性！

It has been a long journey to finally bring together this concert series, The Scent of Time.
My fascination with memory, time, music, and scent has been brewing in my mind for quite a while, and this June, the idea finally blossomed.
I can't express enough gratitude to @marieta.piano for her passion, support, and immediate enthusiasm for this idea. She recently welcomed a newborn, yet the dedication and support she has given this project have been incredible. I feel so lucky to collaborate with her.
After developing the concert series, I was thrilled to work with @theamesirow again, who shares an interest in scent and helped shape a wonderful program.
A huge thank you to @theprofessorchvn for being by my side throughout this process, helping put everything together, and creating such beautiful videos to document the concert series.

Lastly, I want to thank @spacs_art ShunPing and Sabrina for their support and commitment, for providing this beautiful venue, and for believing in this series.
I'm not gonna lie... being a concert director and putting an entire series together is exhausting, but I'm even more excited to see where this journey takes us and to meet new people along the way.

Labyrinth 2: shared residues, will include the delicate and rich “still body, turned leaf” for solo cello by Maya Bennardo, and an expanded version of my piece “shared residues” for small ensemble and audience, performed by Maya Bennardo, Francesca Ferrara, Matt Simon, and me. “shared residues” asks the audience to interact with sound-making sculptures to explore the intersection of communal activities and personal autonomy.
