It is with a bittersweet joy we are proud to finally release our final record Terminal Encryption Part II on Friday, July 31st.

In collaboration with @entertheanimusofficial and @chiasmatheband we bring 3 of our most polished, crushing and cinematic tracks in our entire discography.

As always accompanying us with the genius sound design, atmospheric stylings, and masterful engineering of @evanniermedia this truly is the best collection of songs we could hope to leave you with.

At the time of release a few reviewers described Terminal Encryption as a cyber punk dystopian narrative to the tune of an electronic infused progressive metal record, and following in that path this sequel circles back on those dynamics and goes much further. This EP features the cinematic and meta narrative story telling you are used to from us but combined with the grandiosity of the Dune franchise resulting in what can only be described as a bonafide space opera.

In this short but concise EP we hear the stories of what is left of the human race as they struggle to survive on a planet that has been decimated by nuclear fallout. They make their ultimate confrontation of the oligarchs that rule from above in their ivory tower in a space station built on the moon. After the conflict humanity is left with no home on earth or on the space station and must venture into the unknown in search of a new home.

1. 2984
2. IVORY TOWER
3. Per Aspera Ad Astra

Story plot conceptualized by @jmarug

Lyrics written by, and Vocals performed by @katiethompsonvocals and @jmarug

Instrumentals written recorded and performed by @teaganroberto

Artwork by @ricothebotski

Mixed mastered and engineered by @evanniermedia

Spoken word poems taken from chapter headers from DUNE by frank herbert and performed by @jmarug and @katiethompsonvocals as Princess Irulan

For those of you who have ever listened to our music, came to our shows, bought our merch, or supported us in any way, we are eternally grateful.

If you read this far thank you for reading, thank you for listening, and we hope you enjoy this final story from The Anima Effect

Terminal Encryption Pt II is out!

With this we bid you farewell. Thanks to anyone who’s listened over the years. As an entirely independent band from a rural community in Northern California we were so lucky to get to create, release and perform so much music that meant literally everything to us. We were fortunate to get to work with so many of our idols while trying to tell the best stories we could. The Anima Effect may be no more, but the journey never ends. There are more stories to tell.

Follow @entertheanimusofficial if you don’t already, for whats next.

Our new single is out today and although we don’t have a clear drop date at the moment we thought it was time to announce our next EP which will be a sequel to our 2019 record Terminal Encryption.

This will be the final, farewell record from us. It will serve both as our goodbye to those that have supported us over the years, and conceptually as a segue into the new Enter The Animus album. Teagan’s solo project will keep the spirit of the band alive, and will begin a new narrative concept album using the dune universe as its backdrop.

We hope you enjoy these last songs from us, and hope you continue to bump our music long after this final EP is out.

The tracklist will be as follows:

1. 2984
2. Ivory Tower
3. Per Aspera Ad Astra

Short but sweet. Roughly 18 minutes, but it will be a roller coaster and a sign of what’s to come with the new project.

We appreciate all your love and support over the years and we will announce the official drop date as soon as that’s possible. Expect sometime around February or March.

Today marks 5 years since we released this record. Our first real concept album, with our first entry in our sci fi universe.

Give it a spin on its birthday for us will ya?
