@repayannapressley is phenomenal in either which way you view her.

She’s poised, intelligent, gracious, unapologetic. Her wit is unparalleled. She reminds me of the best parts of being a black woman and I admire how she cares for those she represents. Plus, she’s a girls girl.

When I met her last year, I knew instantly that I wanted to be connected to her vision. I’m so honored that this week Congresswoman @ayannapressley created space for us to have a 1:1 so we could brainstorm on what those possibilities looked like, laugh with black joy, and connect as black women in this space.

Last night I received the Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Campbell’s Rising Star Award for West Tennessee. Nominated by Senator @londonlamartn and surrounded by friends who have walked with me, challenged me, and lifted me, I felt the weight and wonder of it all.

This was not just a moment of recognition. It was a reminder that purpose will always make room for you. God does not have me here to play small. I am here to shift the room.

The Shelby County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association has endorsed our campaign for House District 91.

As someone who has spent nearly a decade in community-based local government, public safety is bigger than slogans. It takes strong public servants, real accountability, sound judgment, and leaders who understand both the badge and the community behind it.

90+ degree weather isn’t stopping me when better communities are on the line.

When I look at Memphis through the lens of state funding and state resources, I don’t see enough return on what our communities deserve. We can pass bills all day, but if families aren’t seeing better streets, stronger schools, safer neighborhoods, and more opportunity, then something has to change.

Let’s get back to the basics. Let’s put people first and deliver results you can actually feel.

Tomorrow kicks off early voting, and my friends, neighbors, and colleagues across Glenview, Midtown, Cooper Young, Central Gardens, Magnolia Castalia, Bethel Grove, South Memphis, Soulsville, and Whitehaven have the opportunity to elect me as the next State Representative for House District 91.

This district has a long history of great leadership. Now is the moment to bring stability to rocky political times and invest in Memphis in ways we have not seen in far too long.

The cost of living is rising, pathways to good jobs and livable wages feel like they are shrinking, and too many neighborhoods look like nobody cares.

But I care, and I have a track record of turning that care into action for people across the 901.

One thing about me, I’m always going to choose policy over politics.

I’m honored to be recognized as a 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate.

For years, I’ve worked on one of Tennessee’s most difficult policy conversations: gun violence. Not from the sidelines, but by bringing together people with different perspectives to find common ground. That work resulted in five policy recommendations supported by more than 30,000 Tennesseans because real progress happens when we stop shouting and start legislating.

District 91 deserves a representative who understands the issue, knows how to build consensus, and can turn ideas into law.

Thank you, Moms Demand Action, for recognizing my commitment to thoughtful, effective policy. I’m ready to take that work to Nashville and continue improving the quality of life for the people of District 91. by @theanswerisarriell
