What an incredible weekend at the Westhampton Beach Project.

Two evenings brought together live music, dance, visual art, community, and people from across the East End for a celebration of creativity in Westhampton Beach.

Created by Steven Colucci, the Westhampton Beach Project continues to show what can happen when different creative disciplines and communities are brought together in one space. I was grateful to curate the visual arts portion through Art Hampton and to be part of a weekend that gave artists another platform to be seen and experienced.

Thank you to the artists, performers, organizers, supporters, families, local leaders, and everyone who came out. And thank you to Dan’s Papers for capturing the weekend.

These are the kinds of experiences I want to keep helping build across the Hamptons: accessible, collaborative arts programming that connects communities and creates real opportunities for artists.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: nathanDET 🎨
Born in Detroit in 1981, nathanDET is an expressive painter whose work explores the subconscious, creativity, obsession, and the complexities of the mind through bold, vibrant color.
After studying painting under Glen Brunken at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and earning his BFA, nathanDET returned to Detroit and immersed himself in the city’s art scene.
Inspired by artists including Basquiat, Bosch, and Dalí, his work transforms personal experiences and internal struggles into colorful, energetic compositions.
As nathanDET puts it: “When my Creativity meets Obsession, they mix and make magic.”
We’re excited to spotlight an artist whose work is deeply personal, unapologetically expressive, and rooted in the power of creativity.
