Kévin Cerqueira agreed to be the fifth artist of my ‘12 Sculptures Challenge’!

Kévin Cerqueira @theartofwilll is a junior character designer, illustrator and story artist from France.
He loves creating diverse and expressive characters. Inspired by the stories he wished he had as a child, he brings imagination and heart to every project.

He has created a character just for this collaboration, and I love it!
Can’t wait to share it with you and to turn it into volume with clay
Stay tuned!

Where are my Pinterest friends who already drew her? 🌿 When I’ve found this picture (sorry for the credits) & I immediately wanted to draw her! The lil girl feels like a cute happy frog and very ready to welcome the first drops of rain💧

Day 31 : Seafoam ~ it’s the final day of this epic month fulfilled with amazing art pieces from talented artists. Always a pleasure to be part of this journey 🌊

Before MerMay, I was stucked in a bad position not knowing what to do to move forward. No inspiration, no desire to draw and a lot of deceptions about my art career. Thank you for this monthly challenge who brought my love for my craft back ✏️

Thank you to the @mermay_official community, to our hosts @lb.illustrates @whitneypollett & @tombancroft1 🪸🫧
Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment, like, share and send a lot of love about my #MerMay pieces.

Day 27 : Iridescent ~ When he discovers that everything he will touch will turn into a deadly iridescent material… what could be worse than a lonely life ? 🫧

@mermay_official challenge is going to a wrap up, we are only at few days before the end. Until now, I’m happy of this month filled with beautiful pieces and new artists I’ve met 🪸 Community sense has so much value.

Day 18-19 : Miami x NonDominant hand ~ let’s be honest, I didn’t expect to achieve this result when I first tried to draw with my left hand. 😅 I kinda love the rough illustration but especially, what I’m a big love of, is what I’ve learned along the way 🪸

In a way to adapt, I had to change my drawing habits. I was more focused on where my lines should go & the number of lines I can draw because my hand muscle aren’t that strong! It was very tempting to fix things with my rightie but I’ve fought to not do it ✨ you can see the timelapse video it’s both messy & very minimal! I recommend everyone doing that for a big learning curve.

Day 15 : Endangered ~ lil bit more serious than the other prompts for @mermay_official what a better choice than a Vaquita to protect from humans. A mermaid guardian for the 10 lefts of their kind on our gigantic planet… 🖤 It was difficult to not express something terrible for today, their reality.

I’ve tried to approach this illustration through the lighting situation. Not very proud of everything but the overall result is what I envisioned. The next painting piece would be better.

Day 13 : Totally 80’s ~ how could I skip this prompt? The aesthetic of 80’s is so fun and unserious, colorful. Between the patterns, neon colors, shapes and BIG HAIR 🪩🪸

For me, they were fashioned to be the new super hero in town or the pop star everyone wants. ✨ So here are my super mermaids band from the 80s! You can definitely know I’ve watched Rupaul’s Drag Race while drawing them 😏

This is probably my new favorite, you too?
