✨ BIRTHDAY ARTWORK 🥳✨

Chris Hemsworth ⚡ Thor
2018 ➡️ 2019 ➡️ 2021

For my birthday, I decided to recreate one of my first drawings when I was just starting out and I also want to celebrate how much I have improved in drawing portraits throughout the years.

The first one was way back 2018 and I drew it using graphite pencils. After a few months, I discovered charcoal and decided to give it a try. Since it worked out well for me, I decided to use the same reference to compare it to my first work and see my improvement. I was really satisfied and decided to stick with that medium. When 2020 came, I became active in art groups and was inspired by the artworks of fellow artists which led me to try drawing colored ones. After a year of practice, I decided again to use the same reference and here's the result ✨

2018
• graphite on sketch book

2019
• charcoal on vellum

2021
• soft pastel on strathmore toned tan

"What is it that you truly desire?"

"Tom Ellis"
Polychromos || Markers
8.5" x 11" Worx Board

It is my first time to do a colored pencil portrait in this size. The reference of this (see in the comment section) is a bit dull for me so I decided to make the colors vibrant. I still got a lot to improve but with practice, I know that I'll be able to achieve my goal in terms of rendering ✨
