To the couples, ditch the kids sometimes so that you two can be the kids again. by @theashcobb

It’s been two years since I watched my mom take her last breath, held her hand as her heart stopped beating, screamed and cried my lungs out on the ICU floor, and watched the doctors use all the blood on the floor in an attempt to give her, give me, give us more time . Behind the life you see me enjoying is a little girl who wants to call her mom and talk about it all. Here’s what I learned: * no one has to care, and most people don’t.
* Only those who are motherless get it.
* I have hardened in unimaginable ways, but am immensely sensitive in other ways
* I have become an advocate for myself in the most confrontational ways
* Time doesn’t heal. The further away I get from last hearing her voice, the scarier life becomes.
